UN - Famine in Gaza

We can either believe that:

That's not what I said though, was it? Why did you edit it?

basically Hamas has no way of finding dead bodies under the rubble without the proper equipment and machinery.
...for emphasis.

Obviously neither of us are on the ground, but it is not unreasonable to think that "proper equipment and machinery" may be a factor considering the devastation?

If only the international media was allowed by Israel to enter Gaza and independently report what has happened there? Then both Hamas and Israeli narratives could be held to account to a greater degree.

This would be help, yes?

Hamas were caught burying a body then digging it up for show. That doesn't help their credibility. Neither does the fact that they are a mass murdering extremist fundamentalist Islamist terrorist organisation.

Absolutely. Neither side has a shred of credibility.

Yes, and the Naziyahu regime is a mass murdering extremist inhumane genocidal fundamentalist Zionist terrorist organisation.

The EU, UK and US should stop providing both Hamas and Israel with political cover, money and weapons to carry out their atrocities.

Ireland, and EU, should sanction trade without fear or favour against Israel and apply it to Gaza also while Hamas refuse to relinquish power.
That way, the import/export trade from Gaza to EU will be crushed.

Humanitarian aid corridors should be opened to aid the citizen populations of Gaza and the Kibbutzims to provide for necessary and essential aid needed for survival.

Add to that the fact they committed to a deal to deliver those bodies, that might have been a good time to raise the 'we don't know where we dumped the corpses' line.

This could a topic in itself but it connects with other actions of the rogue psycho government of Israel.

They are now banning the chair of the EU Parliament Delegation for Relations with Palestine from entering Palestine, a country they illegally occupy.
Israel bans chair of EU Delegation

Boylan’s travel ban came as an EU delegation was attempting to visit Palestine for a second time this year. In February, Boylan, French MEP Rima Hassan and two EU officials were http://www.news.msn.ie/eu-delegation-led-by-mep-lynn-boylan-refused-entry-to-israel-and-deported-on-trip-to-palestine-6632546-Feb2025/ (refused entry to Israel and deported), despite authorisation being granted for the trip.

Israel is making a mockery of the EU. It is exposing the EU as a toothless paper-tiger.

As much as I hate to admit it, Boris Johnson had a point - the EU was a noble idea in its day but it has now run its course.

If it cannot stand up for its own democratically elected politicians then the EU Parliament is redundant.

Maybe if the EU was a more united entity and had military power proportionate to it's economic power and size it would be taken seriously.

Putin and his cronies (Wallace, Daly, Connolly here, Orbán etc in Europe) agree with you.

My guess was always that Hamas took at least 10x more hostages than they ever imagined and had no clue how to keep them captive and keep track of them.

Hamas is not a terribly well run organisation and it’s possible they committed to something they couldn’t deliver on.

You seem to be close to agreement too insofar the EU is not taken seriously?

If the EU cannot unite in the face of genocide and use its economic and political power with Israel as it has done with Russia then the last thing the EU needs is to pump up its military.

Probably end up turning the guns on each other.

I don't listen to RTE or watch the RTE news, but after a quick look at their web site I can't find any reference to the report this week from Amnesty International on 'Targeting Civilians: Murder, Hostage-Taking and Other Violations by Palestinian Armed Groups in Israel and Gaza: Executive Summary'. You can read it all here in Amnesty's web site https://www.amnesty.org/en/documents/mde15/0283/2025/en/

I think it was only published yesterday. It wouldnt surprise me if it took RTE a few days to either pick up on it, or more probably report on it as part of a wider series of reports, contributions, discussions.

I would be surprised if they ignore it all together.

It makes for horrific reading.
