That sounds very dodgy and it suggests they are destroying or have destroyed information.Without doubt there are more, some people I know, sent data access requests on the off chance and found that the bank had allegedly sent them generic tracker mortgage letters and applications (circa 2005 and 2006) These are noted on the EBS's internal systems, but in the document section they are now where to be found within the DAR. Immediately there is a conflict within EBS's own systems. Just what was going on.
On the variable base rate thread I think there was a poster who had seen screenshots of the EBS IT system at the time (04-08) and the variable base rate had an interest rate basis attached to it e.g.ECB base +1.25%. So some customers where sent tracker info or application forms but there seems to be no consistency across branches or brokers with the dissemination of this info.
By the way EBS staff don’t like it when you point out to them that their EBS mortgage T’s & C’s state the interest rate basis(as per the EBS IT system) is included in loan offers...it is included in offers where customers started on trackers but the interest rate basis was removed from fixed to variable base loan offers.
