    islandbridge vs smithfield

Other half has an apartment in Bellevue, Islandbridge and if we could afford to buy another one together there we would! We LOVE it down there. Near the park, the river and town is only a 10 minute cycle away. We do no own cars and are into running etc. so this place is ideal for us. There are...

Does the PRTB sanction landlords who have not registered with them? Tip off Revenue?

Re: Non registration with PRTB Say if u have been living somewhere in apartment you own 4 years, then decide to buy a place with your partner and want to keep on the original place to rent out (at the moment selling it would be hard and you would be making a loss for sure?). As mortgage is high...

sell and buy V rent and rent

I'm possibly going to be in a similar situation. Myself and my partner both have our own gaffs. Due to location of mine and size of his one moving into the other is not an option. Selling either place is not really an option either as we won't get anywhere near what we have paid for them, makes...

Hi all, I bought an apartment with a mate back in March 2006. I then bought him out in August 2008 and will be there a total of 4 years in March 2010. I am now looking to buy a separate place with my partner. Can anyone advise how long I am considered to be in my current apartment as regards...

Iarnrod Eireann - any way to get cheap tickets Sligo Route

Hi all, I was using a weekender card to get reduced price on a weekend ticket to Mayo up until today when I was told that they are no longer being issued :-( Now the only way to get cheap fares is to go online!! That is what I was told when I just rang Heuston station today. Typical of...

    Breaking Out Of Fixed Rate

Thanx Alchemi, Should I call them or pop into a branch as the next step? The thing is though I would still have to pay the break fee as well as additional €1500 but with a 1% difference I guess I would be saving in the long run? M

    Breaking Out Of Fixed Rate

Amount left to pay on mortgage is approximately €263 and same apartments on Daft.ie are selling for max €310 and I doubt I would even get that. Thus, I think I'm gonna find it pretty hard to get anyone to re-finance with at the mo due to the poor loan to value ratio??

    Stamp Duty on Buy Out

Hi guys, I bought out a co-owner (not married) last year and when we initially bought we were both first time buyers. I did not lose my first time buyer status by buying him out and thus did not have to pay any stamp duty or capital gains tax thank God. Cheers, M

    Breaking Out Of Fixed Rate

Thanx guys. Your right so-crates, I will still have to pay the break out fee even if I re-finance, I have looked into this. That was the first thing I thought about doing to get around having to pay the lump sum. Right now I can afford the 6.24% but it leaves me like €850 a month to live on...

    Breaking Out Of Fixed Rate

Hey guys, Basically if I want to break out of my 5 year fixed with First Active they will let me do this by paying them €8,224.01 and I will then move to what they call a "flexible variable rate of 3.75%". My current rate is 6.24% and that is fixed until 21/08/2013, basically I am nearly 1...
