Dublin Docklands - any views?

Hi everyone,

Would dearly love to buy a house in Dublin but stamp duty is still too prohibitive.

The only new apartments in the city centre area seem to be the Dockland. Just doing some initial research on what it's like to live there. Do the apartments have decent balconies/terraces (unlike glorified window boxes that used to pass as balconies).

Does anyone know anyone living there? What's it like? Are facilities better than they used to be? Are all the apartments affordable housing, or can anyone buy?

Thanks in advance.

There are new apartments in Hueston South Quarter as well as Clancy Barracks in D8.

I know that the apartments available through the affordable housing scheme currently have no clawback . So you'd get one for the reduced price and owe nothing back to the corporation ( not sure if u would have to wait a few years to sell perhaps?).
Check out the Dublin City Corporation website for all the details .
