    Lidl nappies €5.29 were €8.29

yes I have a little baby and maybe it's 1st baby syndrome but nothing other than the best, most well tested, safest product will do

    Lidl nappies €5.29 were €8.29

It's nothing to do with being snobby but Lidl / Aldi have their particular reputations for certain reasons - it's like clichés...they are clichés because they are true!

    Lidl nappies €5.29 were €8.29

well what's the difference between a Range Rover and a Lada...they both take you to the same place but in very different levels of comfort

    Lidl nappies €5.29 were €8.29

I know there is a recession but do you really want to put your child in Lidl nappies...pay a bit extra and buy a decent brand. Your children are not where you want to compromise...cut out a bottle of wine a week for yourself and buy proper brands

    Cost of Professional Genealogist

Am looking at getting a whole Family Tree/Genealogy search done as a present for a friends 40th Birthday. Want a really good and thorough piece of work done so will get a professional to do it. Have done a good few google searches but I can't find anything that says what the typical cost might...

Wedding Reception- Staff Gratuities ? How Much? To Whom ?

you are paying for the service so no additional gratuity is required. If the company supplying the catering/event etc want to pay their staff more then let them, but there is absolutley no obligation on you to give them extra. We had the same issue at our wdding and I refused to provide an extra...

I need to find a good seafood restaurant around Dublin not as far out as Howth!

Cavistons is the place to go...alternatively you can get some great seafood in the Purty Kitchen in Dun Laoghaire or the new restaurant where Restaurant na Mara was in Dun Laoghaire train station is also supposed to be very good. Why not just try [broken link removed]

Selling house after just 1 year.

you will be lucky to owe them less than you borrowed particulalry after breaking out of a 5 year deal so early. In essence you asked the bank to borrow money for you for 5 years and now you have changed your mind. All comes at a cost. I know its obvious but try and keep the house if you can

AIB loans not showing up on ICB

A no-show on ICB is generally taken as not a good sign. Banks, when looking to score an applicant, prefer to see a positive history of repayments rather than no history at all. With no history they are left with no knowledge...better to have a ICB than not. Also beware when shopping around...

    CIMA versus MBA

depending on the stage of your career but an MBA is a far superior qualification to CIMA which is just focused on management accounting. MBA will give you a far rounder qualification and if you want a directorship position they will not care about CIMA but may well do about an MBA

Best place to rent in/near Dublin

there are areas that will not be great for a single person (assumption!) to move to in Dublin and I would suggest Lucan wpould be one of these areas. I woudl suggest trying somewhere like Malahide, great pubs and restaurants but also great social activities with tennis, rugby, sailing etc all...

    Banking Crisis

How safe is anything...Bear Stearns was a blue chip wall street bank and now it is gone. Having said that, Rabo is AAA rated which is as strong a guarantee as you can get. I think the figure that is guaranteed is €35000 and not the €20,000 you quote but if you are nervous there are probably...

    Shanahan's on the Green - Child-friendly

you would also feel uncomfortable because although it is a reasonably relaxed restaurant there will be no other kids there and if your one has a whinge there are going to be lots of tut tuts from other diners spending €150 a pop each.

    Wine up North

How about supporting retailers in this country, who pay their taxes here and provide employment here than heading over the border to save a couple of quid! In the long run it's a false economy....everything has a knock on effect
