    Mortgage/Debt Advice Needed

Be careful Susie. Does your bank know you have it rented out? If not and you inform them they might take you off the tracker and give you an investor rate. Then you'd be in a worse off position. Maybe ask them for an interest only period without mentioning the rent you're getting.

Mid defence case my Jnr Counsel has become Sen Counsel and cant continue with case.

The length of cases vary. The solicitor would have had no idea when it started how long it would go on for. Many many variables are involved. Therefore it's unrealistic for a barrister to be definate that they won't be taking silk before the end of the matter. The only way you'd safeguard...

ex boyfriend is taking me to court to try and get joint guardianship of our 2yo son,

Yes but it's just a proposal at present. It doesnt have relevance to the OPs query. I agree though. The sooner the situation changes the better.

ex boyfriend is taking me to court to try and get joint guardianship of our 2yo son,

I'd agree with the above. Totally inaccurate. Unmarried fathers can become guardians of their child by either agreement with the mother or by gong to court to be appointed guardian. They don't automaically become guardians like married fathers.

    Personal Injury claim query? PIAB

I'm a solicitor also, just so we're clear. I'd suggest you see one. More than likely your fees will be paid by the other side. If you proceed yourself the insurance company will pressurise you into settling for much less than you'd be entitled to. The hassle of dealing with them is taken away...

Overcharged legal fees now returned- can I claim interest?

Did you request the interest from the solicitor in question? I'm almost sure they're obliged to return it if it's requested by the client but not if it's not requested.

How do I know if this guy is receiving free legal aid or legal service?

The other poster is right. Civil legal aid is only given for family law issues. There's no way he'd be getting it for this sort of thing.

ex partner(polish)...my rights after birth of child?

You should try to become guardian of your child by agreement with the mother. If she doesn't agree you can apply to court to become guardian. If you're a guardian you'll have a say in things like removal of your child from the jurisdiction. If you're not, you won't have any rights even if you're...
