Where to meet single women

Go to the theatre, at the interval make some eye contact with a few women and the first sign of interest from one, (*have you heard of the 3 second rule?), go over and start chatting about the play, (it doesn't matter if she's with friends). When it's over, catch her on the way out and tell her you have tickets for another play later that week and if she'd like to come along. If you have the balls to do this she'll respect that.

Fortune favours, etc, etc...

3 second rule.
*A rule in which applies that after you spot a woman you would like to meet or notice a woman is giving you eye contact, you immediately approach her within 3 seconds to prevent any bad thoughts or limiting beliefs (excuses) from holding you back.

I thought the 3 second rule was that if you drop something on the floor you have 3 seconds to pick it up before germs get on it. There are variations e.g. 5 second rule depending on how quick the person it to pick the food up...

Note: I'm not saying I believe it and apply it...

When I was younger we used to have rule something like that as regards germs on chewing gum you would find stuck to the path or that another child had spat out. If you picked it up, blessed it, all germs were killed by the Power of Our Lady and you could quite happily chew away!
Yuk!

oops ,I had thought you were a woman given the name MANDAC, I thought it was manda-c???
LOL..Go to kilkenny...

I am!!! (A woman that is!)

The blessing of the gum must have worked because I am still here and have the constitution of a horse! Other people must have did the same as regards picking stuff up off the road too. I spoke to a girl once and she grew up in the inner city (Dublin) and they blessed the spat out gum before eating it too!

Sorry for going off topic about meeting single women. Same applies for meeting single men. I think if I meet any single men, I shall keep quiet about the gum (well on the first date anyway)!

Went to Kilkenny on a hen night a couple of years back - quality of men very poor (Kilford Arms) Having said that, the behaviour of some of the women on hen weekends is not good either, from what I saw!

Think the OP is right, though. Hard enough to meet anyone in Pub/Club. I did a cooking course last year and there was a fair few single blokes/girls, so the interests is probably a better way to meet people.

Im totally confused now!!
you did say in the original post that you were a 28 yr old man looking to meet single women ,Right? Wrong?
So are you a man looking to meet a man or a woman?
Or a woman looking to meet a man or a woman?

I did not make the original post!!

I think the original post was made by a 28 year old single man from Cork!:)

I was in Kilkenny a couple of years ago and concur with MandaC, I also noticed all the men had white shirts with blue lines on them - whats that about?!

Not sure if it was the quality of the men in general in Kilkenny or just the quality of the men in the Kilford Arms, which seemed a bit rough.

A lot of men seemed to be hovering to try to pick up anybody (not too choosey) from 18 to 80 down on a Hen Weekend.

Speaking as a guy from Kilkenny, you couldn't have picked a worse spot to go to! When I was growing up there, it was the one place I was told not go!
Leo

Thanks Leo, had kind of heard that afterwards myself. It was a hen weekend with people from work, so I just go where I am sent at these kind of things.

Would definitely not stay there again. Not really into those type of places at all!

Don't expect to find the love of your life when you're on a hen party. The type of guy that hangs around a hen party is after one thing.

Went to Mayo on the pull many years ago. Anyone we met couldn't carry on a conversation without bringing in football into the equation. A lot of them wore Mayo jerseys — on a Saturday night out!!!!! Go there but only as a last resort!

Opps apoligies MandaC.
re Kilkenny, The lads are great there, you may have met the ones who came down for the weekend for stags etc,and the Kilford arms is a bit of a kip.
I lived there and the local men from Kilkenny and surrounding countys are lovly and when I was living there we tended not to go out on friday nights as the madness was all around. And the next day you would see the heads in a right state. If you do want to meet a man or woman ,kilkenny is great for that.just be carefull where you socialise.
When I was there there was a lot of hassle on John st,caused mainly by people coming down there for the weekend, drinking themselves silly.Usually wearing tiaras and or devils horns,,so original.lol
But if you lived there you do get to know the score and get to know the local lads and its a fantastic friendly place.

Can understand how people in Kilkenny dislike the hen and stag parties, much as it pains me to say it, the Dubs were the messiest - also some of the women were worse than the men for carrying on with drink and causing rows.

I agree with the poster who said her sister could not meet anyone in Dublin too!. I have a fair few single friends, anything from late 20's to mid 40's, all of whom are quite attractive, give up on the dating scene in Dublin!

Anyway, enough of me, think I am a lost cause at this stage, so how is the dating scene in Cork! Wonder did the original poster get sorted?

Only reading this thread now. Totally empathise with the OP. Its hard!! I haven't been in a relationship for a while as I got a bit disillusioned. I'm not a girly girl and find thats a bit of a problem. I'm 30, solvent, own home, intelligent (I think!) ...and people say I'm very pretty but I'm not sure. Its all subjective I suppose :D

I actually like being single .... but people (including my family) have started insinuating that I am getting on a bit!!!
