What would you tell your kids to study?

I’m a career coach. The clients I see that are doing the best right now are in fields reliant on empathy, ethical discretion and EQ over process. Therapists, Counsellors, Educators, Organisational Psychologists, Mediators (Labour Relations & Private Disputes). Pretty much anything healthcare delivery related. Not a commentary on pros\ cons of those roles, just that they’re best placed to avoid automation.
The problem with that is they are all non wealth creating sectors. That's very worrying.

best placed to avoid automation.
A lot of people using AI engines for psychological therapy. The reasons are cost and availablity. You can talk to your AI therapist every day for a few dollars a month. I'm not saying it's good, but it's happening. That said, I doubt it will reduce the demand for human psychologists. It might even increase the demand, from those whose minds have been messed up by AI.
Actually I believe developmental issues in children will grow in scale due to the use of phones, and this will feed into their adulthood. Therapist demand will similarly grow.

Then they can use their phone to talk to an AI to deal with the issues arising from their use of their phone?

If AI powered automation is making everything, shipping everything and running everything and nobody has a job in a wealth creating sector then where are the AI addicted screwed up clients going to get the money to pay the therapists?

Of course the chances are that the therapists will be similarly screwed up and phone addicted.
