No harm in doing this. Each time I've made a payment I've rung them a week later to confirm they received the funds and to tell them how to allocate it.is there a Step7a say where you have to tell them at the same time what years the payment relates to and how best to do that?
I'd almost always say it's worth an appeal, but if you can't establish employment you won't get Class 2. And as you say, it's still a good deal, if not as sweet.should she appeal and try to get moved over to Class 2

I'm about to pay via my Revolut and had set up the payee as Paying from an overseas bank accountStep 7 paying from a sterling bank account
If you have Revolut Account you can pay in Sterling from it.
If you use Wise or some other FX service, you can pay in Sterling.
