RIP Thread for Notable People

hasn't Jessie Buckley got an amazing voice?
Yes, not sure about some of her song selections but she is simply wonderful here on "Footnotes on the Map" with Bernard Butler.

The story of how 10cc helped Neil Sedaka re-launch his career in 1973 is the stuff of music legend.

According to former BBC presenter Danny Baker, Sedaka was at a bit of a low in his career with his best years behind him. He was touring those big working men's clubs in the north of England playing his early hits when he got together with Graham Gouldman who he'd met in New York earlier.

Along with the rest of 10cc he recorded two albums in their Strawberry Studios in Stockport resulting in hits like 'Solitare', 'This Will Be Our Last Song Together', 'Standing On The Inside', 'Love Will Keep Us Together' and more.

(I see the drummer on those sessions - Kevin Godley - around occasionally and was introduced to him once through a friend. He lived in Wicklow for years and now residing in South Dublin. )

Neil Sedaka and Joy Division both lay down tracks in the same recording studio in Stockport.
Neil recorded “ Love will keep us together “ & Joy Division recorded “ Love will tear us apart “
