KBC KBC - infamous flyer timeline

Hi All,
Just a quick update,
Firstly, I am not looking after my case directly. I have a specialist in this area doing all the work.
KBC responded to my letter of complaint from the ombudsman. They replied with "they never were entitled to a tracker because of X, Y & Z etc. I have 10 days to add any additional information to my case before it goes to adjudication. That should take about 6 weeks. To give people a time frame, my case was lodged with the ombudsman in June 2020.so the process takes roughly 18 months.
It'll take you another 12-18 months after it goes to adjudication to reach preliminary decision.

Hi ,
Have any of you heard any update since, I understand my case has been sent to Ombudsman but have had no feedback since atall. Any updates would be a help.

Mine was sent to the FSPO in March 2021. It was referred for formal investigation in May 2021, still waiting for it to be assigned to an Investigation officer… flyer case

If they do not hurry up with this process, we will all be '6 foot under, can someone please explain why is it taking so long..

Hi all,
My case was lodged with the Ombudsman in June 2020. It has now gone through formal investigation since last month and now I have entered the formal adjudication stage, which I have be advised will take about 6 months. So that will be 2 years start to finish.

Has anyone got a case lodged where they are arguing the fact that KBC didn’t make customer aware of trackers when coming off the 1 yr fixed within the flyer window dates.
In Jan 07 my 1yr fixed was up and I got a letter from KBC listing rate options open to me but no mention of tracker . I’m been told by those in the know this is no longer a strong case , but seems they (KBC) were being selective with client comm. if they made me aware other rates why omit the tracker, which I certainly would have chosen, and in Jan 07 that was the primary rate offered .

Hi Manor,

IMO the tracker rate option was available when your fixed rate expired, so you should have been offered the tracker option..that's my view. Really, at this stage I feel that we all need to get some form of overall update on where this is at and when do we expect final clarity on what we are all entitled to, it has taken way, way too long..

Hi Manor, when my fixed rate expired, I was given no options letter by kbc and was just put on a punitive 4.75per cent variable rate that has proven very difficult for me and my family to live with on a monthly basis.

Thanks calamity & Don007, so we seem to be in same boat where we came off fixed during the dates the flyer was enforce but KBC did not offer us tracker option when re fixing ? My issue is I drew down my mortgage a few months before the flyer dates (and that is why KBC refuse) but I came off 1yr fixed in Jan 07 right in middle and it is a breach of CPC for KBC to only be selective when sending me rate options. The fact that they sent me a letter with options is where they are at fault . If they sent nothing , I don’t think I’d have a case but the fact that they did it’s my contention they should have advised me all options and not just a few fixed rates . Multiple CPC breaches
Are either of you moving any nearer resolution and are your cases similar ?

Should have news in June/ July. I hope that the wait and the missed opportunities will be worth it in the end....

Hi ,
Just wondering , how you know that there should be news in June / July, the silence is 'deafening' at my end. Just dont see any light atall..
Thanks,

I gather there are c.450 cases in this cohort, I assume these are being dealt with together, does anyone know when we will hear about this..

My case is at the adjudication stage since January. I have been informed that this process can take up to six months. So I should here some news by July.

In the light of the news yesterday regarding the IPTSB Trackers compensation, does any of this have a bearing on the KBC (ours cases)?

In my opinion, The IPTSB cases that were investigated were discounted trackers, they really would have no relevance to ours.
