Nope I never got sorted. I don't get as far as receiving a verification link. I reckon it's because my ID photo is over 10 years old and AI can't match it with my selfie.

I started the process of signing up for a new account. The process seems to have vastly improved from years ago, you no longer need to email any documents to them.

But I see the "likely scam" labeled text messages are back. I thought this issue was solved. Maybe Advanzia are using a new SMS number of provider. Not good in case Comreg ever follow through and block messages with this labeling.

Remember to sign up properly, you need to have Mobile open and email open on a laptop / device. I was walked through process on the phone. I needed to keep both open at the same time. (i.e., Click email verification on the 2nd device while keeping mobile open and then continue).
 
Does anyone understand why Advanzia are not on the Irish Central Bank list (?) whereas other foreign deposit takers like Raisin are listed even though they don't have an Irish branch. And, just by the way, BAWAG (MoCo) and BankInter are listed as having Irish branches, as is expected given that they operate DIRT.

Advanzia are also offering some existing customers, who were on older promo rates, 3.40% until September 2026.
 
Typically how long do you get emails on advanzia account saying if the rate will be kept at high rate for a further 3 months. Looking at moving money around (closing and reopening mine) to get the high rate on this account. Have been a customer since July 2023 and my wife also has an account.

My promotional rate was due to expire on 30/6/26. I received an email on 28/5/26 telling me that the promotional rate had been extended and would apply from 1/7/25 to 30/9/26
 
I signed up for 4th account in end of January. Somehow let it slip past the date and it was 1.51% since May. Have started the process of setting up again. Did not receive any letter. In fairness Advanzia have improved so much over the years. Easy to ring as well.

"Starting from May 1st, your interest rate is 1,51 % effective respectively 1,50 % nominal p.a. A special interest rate promotion for new customers is running from June 1st, 2026. New customers will receive an interest rate of 3.51% effective, respectively 3.45% nominal p.a., provided that the minimum amount of EUR 5,000 or more has been credited to the deposit account by June 30th, 2026 at the latest, with that date as the value date."
 
Do they typically increase the promo rate for existing customers who opened their account in the past 3 months, or does everyone have their own promo rate?
 
I saw that deal, opened an account yesterday, sent €1 to test it out. Nothing received in the account. Not a great start.

What Advanzia do at the end of your 3 month period varies. Sometimes an extension. Sometimes a new rate. Sometimes nothing but the standard rate. If offered an extension / new rate, it is typically different to the new customer rate. For example, right now, the extended promo, seems to be 3.40% for some customers. You can always close your account and open a new account at the new customer rate.
