Michael O'Leary on Marian Finucane's Show today

You are misrepresenting what he said. That says a lot about you.

2 overseas investment properties funded by personal loans

Agreed but I would sell the other one. Property 1 has a rental yield of 4.7%, property 2 has a yield of 3.5%. Why are you suggesting selling the one producing the lower yield?

Teacher with multiple properties living on the breadline

sell. you are way over exposed to one asset. You have debts of €650 on a salary of €60k. You are really on the edge each month, a drop in rental (very likely imho) and/or an increase in ECB are you are in trouble. Can you fill in a few blanks? What are the lengths of each mortgage? Are all...

    Joseph Stiglitz on Prime Time

So I take it you were expecting something else? If the business plan for NAMA had been: "take €70b in cash and burn it", I wouldn't have been surprised. And the best part, you would still have FF shills claiming that it's the "only game in town" and the economists pointing out that it was a...

    Tracker bond linked to S&P

I would agree with the above poster. Just buy an ETF linked to the S&P500. Forget these products, assuming that you want to invest in equities. Here you can work out the cagr and std dev of the S&P500 for any period over the past 100 years, that should be plenty information to work out if the...

    Tracker bond linked to S&P

If you don't have the time to check up the relevant figures on the S&P you probably shouldn't be investing in it.

Why don't we put our prisoners to work?

Wrong. One single sheriff, your friend [broken link removed], has an optional chain gang. No other county in the USA does this.

    "Economic value" versus "market value"

I must be missing something in your argument because from my point of view it's the banks that are selling the property and they are in market 3).

    "Economic value" versus "market value"

If there is no market; they are not worth anything.. From the sounds of it, it's worth €500k but the more pressing issue is your mental disorder ;)

Thomas Cook Workers-5 weeks pay for each year of service what are these guys thinking

Re: Thomas Cook Workers I wouldn't call a loss of 110m in the 6 months to July making money. I guess they are paying the CEO a bonus because the loss was reduced but I don't have any details on his remuneration..

    redundancy package

Thomas Cook has been losing money for at least the past 5 years running. There's a reason they are letting people go. But don't let that get in the way of your "analysis".

    "Economic value" versus "market value"

Long term conomic value = Political BS spin to convince the Irish tax payer that they are not being ripped off Market Value = What something is worth

    Hurray for accBank?

Absolutely not. If something is worth €100k, then pretending it's worth €200k for the next 15 years does not make sense unless you want to put Ireland through a Japan styled Lost Decade (which in reality is still ongoing).
