RIP Thread for Notable People

Graham Greene, the Canadian First Nations actor who starred in films including Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73, his manager says.
"It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of award-winning legendary Canadian actor Graham Greene," Gerry Jordan said in a statement to CBC News. The outlet reported he died of natural causes.
Greene scored an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Kevin Costner's 1990 epic western, where he played Kicking Bird.

I think last thing I saw him in was a supporting role in 1883.

I didn't recognise the name but I knew the characterful face instantly from appearances in multiple films down the decades. Rest in peace Graham and thank you.

There's a thread about Kirk specifically, this sort of in depth stuff might be better off there?
We may miss the announcement of the deaths of a sporting \ acting \ music legend amidst the to and fro...

Nicky Ryan, the music legend behind some of the multi-award-winning singer Enya’s greatest hits, has passed away aged 79. Mr Ryan had been manager and producer of folk band Clannad before embarking on a life-long collaboration with Enya, a journey that spanned four decades.

He worked with several artists in the 1970s and 1980s including Gary Moore, Planxty and Christy Moore.

Mark Volman , singer songwriter with The Turtles has died aged 78.

"In December 1968, NME magazine reported that Volman had insured his distinctive frizzy hair for US$100,000 against fire, theft or loss due to illness."

Whatever about fire or loss through illness, theft puzzles me? Was America really that lawless back in the late 60s?

What record companies got away with was just as bad...

Volman and Kaylan planned to continue working together, but discovered that the terms of their contract forbade them to use not only the name 'The Turtles' but also their own names
