I just called KBC to confirm my email address is correct and asked if they are emailing people to advise of moving to a tracker and was told all communication will be by post only. Rakitcom did his email come out of the blue or where you corresponding by email with them?? sorry for all questions. feel like I have a pause button over me at the moment I can't make any big decisions until we have an outcome one way or another.

If you read previous posts. I logged a complaint v a hub.

As I had a logged complaint my case was open for questioning from me to BANK.

I had a complaints person at the bank to correspond with.

I asked for an update yesterday.

And got the reply by incrypted mail today.

Based on the reply I’ve closed the complaint with an option to recativate

Cant say why you are different,

Did you log your complaint v the HUB as advised.

What’s needed, Account Number, written query regarding you concerns that you feel you are impacted.

The bank should reply to your complaint by letter to you. This will give you a contact on the tracker team for correspondence.

Or you may get a letter just stating you are not impacted?

I have two loans with KBC,

One was always Tracker, and the other started on fixed, I rang the bank at the end of the fixed period and requested to be put on a tracker, which they refused at the time. I went away disappointed but parked it till last November. And lodged a written complaint. I got a contact to mail at the bank.

I have all my original documents.

So if that’s the difference I don’t know.

I’m at the stage if they tell me the sky is blue I will have to take a look out side to be sure.

    Words are just words.

See what happens by March. And June then I’ll know for sure.

Otherwise nothing has changed. Just words.

Just to be clear. I have closed the other thread which was all over the place.

It would be useful Rakitom if you summarised your case and why you think you got it back.

    Hi Brendan

    I can’t be sure,

    Only to say,

I follow a process in much the same way as Padric would.

    Account number, written complaint.

Received notification from the bank that complaint was logged. With a bank contact.

Followed there time frames, and mailed every time I had a query. or Needed clarification.

The key points I made to the bank on all correspondence was, I had all my original documentation, with apendicies. The broker contacts I dealt with at time of offer and drawdown.

I sent this mail yesterday to the Contact

“I’m looking for an update please,

When will the tracker rate be restored, as per media reports. This is the first step.

And when will the final review be completed.”

And got a positive response today.

That was the road I followed.

As it stands, I have an email trail from my correspondence, which is good.

I have a return time frame for my revert to tracker.

I have a time frame for finalization of the whole Sorry affair for my account.

Unless something changes in the meantime I hope to be done with this by the end of June.

The key for everyone is to follow a process keep your records, seek clarification on all correspondence when ambiguous. I don’t believe everyone will be happy with the final outcome on an individual basis.

That’s my process start to date. Things could change. As I said, it’s only words till it in the bank account.

When dealing formally in any process, the return communication can cause high levels of stress to an individual. So the bank will want to be clear and not misleading as you will have a record. And could claim for aggravated issues.

The formal route, that’s my recommendation.

    Thanks Rakitom

But I meant for you to tell the story of the mortgage
    1) When did you draw down your mortgage?
    2) Was it on a tracker?
    3) Did you fix for a period or how did you lose your tracker?
    4) Did you complain at the time?
    5) Did you go to the Ombudsman

    1.) feb 2008
    2,) started on fixed
    3,) fixed 3 years, didn’t loose Tracker.
4,) no didn’t complain till Nov 2017 but had made previous enquiry to bank at end of fixed rate 2011, or 2012.
    5,) no ombudsman

I have two loans from bank,

1, March 3rd 2008 has always been on a Tracker, never been any different nor did they try to remove me from it. Started on interest only 3 years,

2, Feb 29th 2008, this is the loan that is in question, and as of today’s communication I’ll be on a tracker for 1st March. Don’t know what rate I didn’t push it. I’m assuming 1.24% as per flyer.

And overpayment refunded by June 30th + small amount of compensation.

Between this message and the last one this should clarify.
