Greenman Open Fund investment

I received the latest Greenman Open update by post last week. The document explained why I can't have my investment money back for at least 12 months and probably much longer ...... and simultaneously invited me invest more in Greenman through their exciting new app!.

The final lines of The Eagles "Hotel California" came to mind:

Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man, "We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" :(

Which is presumably for the reason outlined by @Brendan Burgess here?
Yes. They've been asked to pay out 30m, but there's not that much cash lying round in the fund. Usually, the rent can pay the withdrawals, but not such a large amount in a short period. Just like any property, it's takes a while to liquidate the investment.

Loosen up, chaps, I wasn't complaining; I'm quite happy for my descendants to cash in my Greenman chips after the grant of probate has arrived and they can finally get their greasy paws on my loot; something which, hopefully, won't be for a decade or three.

But not every investor may be in my situation. Hence my light-hearted (or I thought) reference to that well-known lyric.

So they can, eventually, check out and leave?

Who can foretell the future?

My point was - and remains - that anyone who badly needs their funds NOW, is stuck in the Hotel California for the next 12 months, or perhaps for much longer. It's not really much help knowing that, all going well, some day in the future, it will rain snowdrops and butterflies.

Folks,

Think of an investor in this fund.

They google it and find this thread.

to get an update they will have to wade through all the tit for tat stuff you are posting.

You should really keep it to updates on the development, questions and answers, and not chit chat, or "I said, you said".

And if someone starts off on chit chat, just ignore them, don't feed them.

Brendan

A substantive update to the "tit for tat stuff" above:-

Notification was received today from Greenman to the effect that, following advice from The Central Bank, they have decided to suspend the marketing, acceptance and processing of all new subscriptions to Greenman Open until 14 August 2026. They are also going to refund all unprocessed investment monies to investors.

(So the Hotel Greenman is no longer accepting any reservations from new guests, although those of us who are already in residence are still unable to check out!)

I received the same notification from Greenman as mentioned above some weeks ago. My financial advisor has not yet said anything to me about this, so I must ask him about it. Having took the time to read my ARF paperwork (a task long overdue), half of my ARF is split into Greenman (via an SDIO which I had to google) and remainder into equities. Should I be concerned with this notification and perhaps be seeking advice to change. I am also trying to educate myself concerning all and any fees being paid by me/my fund for its set up and management and commissions paid (which I assume also come from my fund?) and I notice some appear quite vague and indeed unknown. I intend to request full disclosure from all parties involved however if there is a good resource on this matter, I would greatly appreciate a recommendation.

Came on here looking for some information, I invested in the Greenman NEXT fund formally (Greenman GES fund) a few years ago, the fund doesn't seem to have preformed well since I invested and only very recently requested a redemption of my funds. This fund never paid bonus or distributions. Has anyone invested in this fund? Got an email today, the first communication I've received referencing a possible issue ( this fund is not gated at present like the Greenman Open fund). Email mentioned that some investors have been contacted directly by Greenman in respect to their investment.
Greenman are offering to meet with investors to explain their position and are accepting responsibility for a delay in redemption payments issue and are offering a new redemption settlement agreement to be signed, where the investor may be entitled to compensation or a coupon payment, however this may result in a longer wait time for release of funds.

I feel very let down by my financial advisor and we went to him for advice at the time back in 2021 and this was the fund he advised us to go with.

Has anyone gotten their money out and if so how long did it take?
