Credit card that has full card details available in the app? (like KBC)

That is another option but I prefer the idea of opening the app on the phone when I need it - might not always be on my own device or sometimes its over the phone etc. Although Revolut have declined by CC application so might look at it again. I can only guess my financial situation didn't...

Anyone know if AIB, Avant or An Post have the card details available in their app's? (I know BOI and PTSB don't).

Credit card that has full card details available in the app? (like KBC)

I had a KBC credit card that enabled you to see the full credit card details in their app (after secure login etc). It was really handy being able to make online purchases without having to go find my wallet. With KBC leaving the market the card has been transferred to BOI. They don't have...

Transfer USD from US account into revolut - SWIFT code?

I use Wise for transferring USD from the US to here. Wise give you account details for a range of currencies and you can maintain balances in those currencies. You can easily see the necessary US account details for your account in the WISE app. I then setup it as a domestic transfer from the...

I transfer USD from my E*Trade account to my Wise (previously Transferwise) USD account using regular ACH transfer. Takes about a day but it no fee (free on both sides). Then convert from my Wise USD to Wise EUR account as required - small FX fee involved). I then transferred the EUR out to...

Problems getting new credit card to replace Ulster and KBC's one

The difference is that with a debit card you are down money in your account straight away while its all getting sorted. This might mean that you can't use for other essential items. If its a CC you can mark the payment as disputed and it buys time to get it all sorted.

Cost of being a first time landlord

It depends on the management agency you use. The one I use is very particular. They do a much better job of vetting the tenants than I ever could.

    Outdoor paint to cover plastic?

I think I used some methylated spirits to clean up the brushes afterwards - from memory they seemed to come out ok.

    Outdoor paint to cover plastic?

Use BIN 123 exterior undercoat. It sticks to everything. Then just put regular Satinwood exterior paint (in the colour of your choice) over it. I've used it for the side of my Steeltech shed, aluminum roof on my porch, and some guttering. https://www.zinsseruk.com/product/bulls-eye-1-2-3/ (You...

    Cash offer on house

If was buying I'd want vacate possession. It might sound unreasonable but I'd be afraid that the week or two would turn into a month or two - or that the condition of the property would change. (A pessimistic view I know)

    Best Reward Credit Card

I currently have a KBC credit card and I find it great. I generally get a few euros back each month on cashback. Its mainly used for online purchases and I clear the balance each month. With KBC most likely pulling out I'll probably have to switch. I've been looking at Avant card - I...

Capital allowances on rental income - not allowed against USC?

Ok, thanks. I had a bit of battle with the form yesterday as only some of my Tax credits auto populated. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. It does seem strange that they allow it against PRSI but not USC. It seems a bit inconsistent. It's also a pity that the...

Capital allowances on rental income - not allowed against USC?

Hi all, I am a PAYE worker with additional rental income (2020 first full year of rental). 2020 was my first year that required me to do self assessment via ROS. I'm currently filling in the details on the online Form 11. I have capital allowance expenses (wear and tear etc) which are...

Remote working entry on Form 11

I found it - its on the PAYE/BIK/Pensions (2) section. On that tab look for 'Allowable Deductions Incurred in Employment'. There is then a box for 'Remote Working' Expenses.

Key Post Is paying with a credit card safer than paying with a debit card?

You need to be careful using debit cards on the internet. If you card details are comprised and there are fraud transactions on your account you are straight away down money. There can be some time delay before its refunded to you. If you use a credit card then when you have fraudulent...

To sell or not to sell investment property?

Thanks Brendan that's brilliant. Figures in the table are bang on. I wasn't sure whether to look at the figures for a year or the length of the PPR mortgage. To take away some of the hassle I took the hit of getting a letting agent managing the property for me. So far its working out fine...
