When is KBC passing on the last rate reduction?

I have a variable rate mortgage with KBC and I got a letter today saying there's an interest cut (from November I think - I haven't seen the letter yet myself, just had my husband tell me the new monthly payment sum).

Tesco fined €600: charging more at the tills than the price displayed on shelf.

My local tesco just gives back the overcharged amount. They refused to give the item for free or double the difference because they said people were taking advantage.

Hotel near Funtasisa and Tayto Park?

Yes. The original is in Bettystown and it's really bad. It's dirty, old and smelly and I'll never set foot in the place again. I was there about 4 weeks ago. The one in Drogheda is really good. The waterpark section is great fun, there's no swimming area but plenty of slides. There's...

Hotel near Funtasisa and Tayto Park?

I think Hillsalt is talking about Funtasia in Drogheda rather than Bettystown. The one in Bettystown is horrible but the one in Drogheda with the waterpark is great. There's also the Bracken Court in Balbriggan.

    Car park chargesin drogheda hospital

I didn't realise they'd changed it. That's ridiculous. Hopefully your wife goes into labour on a Sunday so you can park outside on the street for free.

Stockholm - tips and advice needed

Is that the main airport? If so there's a very quick direct train to the central train station. The old town section is really nice (Gamla Stan I think it's called but I could be wrong). The area to the North of that is good for bars and restaurants (I can't remember the name of the place...

    Car park chargesin drogheda hospital

There's a big car park close to the hospital. It's about a 5 minute walk but there's a courtesy bus. It's €3 for however long you park there. It's opposite some sort of sports ground/field. Edit: Look for the hospital on google maps. You can see the carpark on a road called Crosslanes...

Recommendation on destination for Spa break birthday present

I was recently at the Heritage and wasn't impressed. To get to the spa from the rooms you have to go down the lift to a basement and walk through a stinky mouldy corridor which really lets the place down. The pool is tiny and absolutely freezing. It's a good hotel if you have kids but not for...

    I didn't.

Kindle - USB or EU Power Adapter?

The USB charging cable is great. I charged my Kindle when I got it over 3 months ago and only once since (the battery was low but not gone altogether) so it lasts a very long time. I use the Kindle for about 2 hours most days so I wouldn't worry about the battery running out on a 2 or 3 week...

    Great Ireland run question

It's a really enjoyable race but getting busier and busier each year so don't count on any personal bests. I usually just pay the fee myself and have only asked for sponsorship once for this race. It seems like every race wants sponsorship these days (unlike any other sport), but I don't...

Paintball - team building or waste of time?

I loved it with friends but wouldn't fancy playing with colleagues.

    LUAS to The Point

I used the Luas to and from the O2 last Thursday and it was great. Got on no problem at the stop at the back of the CHQ building and on the way back after the gig it was very well organised. People with return tickets were directed straight on to one of the waiting trams with no queuing...

    Ireland's current crop of comedians

I saw him doing a live show a couple of months ago. He was good but quite tame. We were the youngest people in the audience by far (most seemed to be in their 50s or older) so maybe he appeals best to that age group. I hate Ed Byrne, Jason Byrne and Tommy Tiernan. I much prefer going along...

    Oslo, Norway for Dec 2010

It's usually cheaper and a lot more convenient to fly with SAS into Oslo itself. Torp is about 2 hours away from the city, worse if the weather is bad because it's a bus journey rather than a train journey. Return flights with SAS are usually no more than €120 - €150, obviously depends on the...
