Form 11 - Remote working expenses

Im trying to progress thru my Form 11 for tax year 2023. During the year, I added and claimed remote working expenses via receipts tracker regularly. So I claimed all of the remote working expenses at end of November 2023. My receipts tracker shows all of the receipts as claimed. I visited...

Trade Republic offering account statements quarterly

What kind of logic is that? If you are not happy go to Davy and Goodbody that costs leg and arm to offer most basic service. There are other cheap trading platforms, Trading 212, Lightyear, IBKR and Degiro that offers this for free.

Trade Republic offering account statements quarterly

I wanted to get an up to date account statement in Trade Republic, to show as proof of savings for my mortgage application. It turns out that Trade Republic auto generates account statements quarterly (last time being on beginning of October and next one will be at the beginning of January). If...

Trade Republic paying 4% on deposits up to €50,000

I think that makes sense as Trade Republic is licensed to operate in Germany. And it’s stated that the money is saved in Citibank which is part of DGS. The real question here ( that is already asked before) is if TR goes down how can we claim our deposits via DGS.

Trade Republic paying 4% on deposits up to €50,000

Just got the phone call but the nice part was they asked why Im withdrawing all my money out. I mentioned that a competitor is offering 4% rate so Im switching to that one. Maybe they will consider increasing their interest rate.

Trade Republic paying 4% on deposits up to €50,000

Actually I just got an email now saying that they will give me a call and verify my transaction. It wasn't mentioned in the app so perhaps that's the reason for 2 working days. In any case, let's see how long it will actually take.

Trade Republic paying 4% on deposits up to €50,000

Another minus point from Lightyear, I requested to withdraw my money which will arrive in next 2 business days (till end of the day). I believe TR sends the money quicker when you want to withdraw.

Trade Republic paying 4% on deposits up to €50,000

You need to activate 4% rate inside the app under interests section. I haven't got paid interest for September month yet but my "interests earned" amount increased already (so they included September's earnings to total calculation). I believe we should wait a bit more to see the interest money...

FIFO rule between ESPP and RSU gained shares

Sorry for the newbie question, I am aware that there is FIFO rule in Ireland when selling your shares. My question is, I get some shares via ESPP and RSU methods. After RSUs are vested I think? (not sure) they are treated just like a usual share. If I want to sell my recently vested RSUs while...

    Withholding Tax - Foreign Deposits

On this page: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/money-and-tax/tax/tax-on-savings-and-investments/deposit-interest-retention-tax/ There is a section that says: If you have paid DIRT you do not have to pay any further income tax orUniversal Social Charge on the interest, but the interest is...

    Withholding Tax - Foreign Deposits

I use Form 11 due to ESPP and I get charged 4% PRSI tax on top of 33% DIRT for Deposits outside of Ireland. I'm actually PAYE and I don't earn more than 5K€ interest so I believe this is related with Form 11 usage.

FT: Irish Banks Passing On Just 7% of Rate Gains To Depositors. Worst in Europe.

Most of EU banks asks for residency requirement when you try to open a bank account. Yeah there is EU directive about it but banks simply don't care. So you can either use Neo bank accounts or investment apps or use Raisin for having fixed term deposit accounts. I don't think there is any EU...

Rent tax credit : €500 from 2022 i.e. this year

I sent an enquiry to revenue about if there is any update with the refund I am due on my Form 11 tax return and they said I didn't provide RTB number in Form 11 and I have to provide it via myEnquiry. If this field is mandatory then it should be marked as one in Form 11 as you can leave it empty...

Rent tax credit : €500 from 2022 i.e. this year

Is this available for 2022 tax returns in form 11? I started already and not sure if it will appear when I edit my tax return or if I have to delete and start from scratch but I can't see any relevant field under ros.ie while completing form 11 online.

P21 (Statement of liability) for Income Tax registrars

I need P21 (Statement of liability) for mortgage application but when I try to request it from revenue.ie website it says "You cannot proceed as you were registered for Income Tax during the year" and doesn't generate me any document. I signed up to ROS during 2021 bcs of ESPP and I complete...
