Yep, broadband FTTH @Marsha25. I'm paying €30 and will probably move to Sky FTTH for the same monthly bill.

Renew with Vodafone - will price increase in April

Just off the phone with them @jpd and best they'd offer is €35. My contract doesn't expire until the end of January, so they couldn't set the cancellation in place yet. I've a reminder set to call and cancel.

Renew with Vodafone - will price increase in April

I'm currently with Vodafone (500 mb FTTH) and have no issues with it. I'm paying €30 per month, and I got an email from Vodafone yesterday letting me know that my contract is expiring in January and that the price will rise to €40. I went to the Vodafone web site to see if there's a better...

Paying deposit to a bathroom installer. Best way to protect myself

We're doing up our bathrooms and got quotes from a few different people. The guy who we think is best value is looking for a 50% deposit. I know I'll have to pay something up front, but 50% seems a bit steep to me. I'm just wondering how much i.e. what percentage of the agreed cost, are...

Hi @Sue Ellen I placed the order for collection. The walk would eliminate some of calories in the food!

Service charge when paying with Revolut ... is that allowed?

Thanks @RedOnion I can't say I've noticed this charge before, so I don't know if it's specific to using Revolut. The food was €9.99 and then there was another 50 cent added as "Service Charge". I might have to order anohter this evening and use a non-revolut debit card and then order again...

Service charge when paying with Revolut ... is that allowed?

Hi all, I ordered a takeaway over the weekend and paid with Revolut. I noticed a 50cent "Service Charge". I thought this was abolished a number of years ago? Looking at the Citizens Information page, that seems to be the case here. i.e. "Retailers cannot charge you an extra fee or...

AVC - how do I upload proof of paying?

Hi all, I've started to make some AVC's to my pension (outside of my salary). I received a receipt from the pension provider to confirm the amount that I paid. Do I need to upload this receipt to ROS? If so, where do I do this? I can see a field where I can add the amount of this payment...

Newsletters from politicians - are these "junk" mail?

Indeed. I think we should have local and general elections every year. We don't hear about all the wonderful things that have done, and all the even better things that they're going to do, until about a year before the election. If the elections were every year, there'd be a constant flow of...

Newsletters from politicians - are these "junk" mail?

But what about the damage that that would do to the environment @Billybob ;-) The bottom half of Europe is on fire, so I don't want the same happening to Ireland!!

Newsletters from politicians - are these "junk" mail?

With the local council and European elections under a year away, I'm starting to see a lot more newsletters, flyers etc from political parties being dropped in my post box. These weren't addressed to me, so they must have been distributed by local party members. I have a "No Junk Mail" sticker...

No, it's a genuine brown envelope from the Revenue. Will just return as Brendan and DannyBoyD have suggested.

Letter from Collector General to company not at this address

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this ... apologies if not. I received a letter today from the Collector General addressed to a company that I never heard of. I searched for the company name and from what I saw on the opencorporates.com web site, this company was dissolved in...

Thanks, Towger! Would it be worth setting up a "new" employment in My Account using the same employer details of the Ceased job?

Employment "cease" date not until start of June; revenue considering job is ceased

Hi all, My sister works in the Public Service and is retiring at the start of June. Her employer has notified revenue of her end date i.e. June 2. In her April pay, she paid over 3 times the amount of income tax and USC that she normally pays. PRSI was €12 higher than normal. I logged in to...

Paying utility bill by Direct Debit - is outstanding balance checked on day payment is taken?

Not sure if this should be in the "Home Energy" forum, so apologies in advance if this should have been posted there. My Electricity and Gas bills come every second month and I pay them by direct debit. To avoid bill "shocks" I try and pay something off these bills each month. That's worked...

Best broadband deals available at moment?

I'm with Vodafone FTTH (500 MB) paying €50 per month - increasing to €60 at the end of the contract. My contract expires in mid Feb so I called them to see what they could do for me. The first person I spoke to said that they'll give me a "discount" of €10, leaving me on the same package, so...
