We are paid December salary a little early, just before the holiday shut down.
This year, they have decided to hold it until after Christmas, but are not paying on the date which would be expected by the normal schedule (friday following month end), rather the following Monday, January 4th.
This will mean payment after mortgage etc leaves people's bank accounts, at a very expensive time of the year.
This was announced in a very low key and frankly underhand way, over a year ago, and nobody, mangement included, noticed it.
Is there a precedent set by the previous practice (many years standing) which would allow us to insist on full or part payment on schedule for Jan 1st?
