What is the best way to fit wooden floors with Under Floor Heating - float them or glue them down?

Logic says that glueing them down will allow for better heat transfer but I would imagine the floor will have to be perfectly level...

Any thoughts/advice...?

Heard both arguements really, so what ever suits.

We floated our with no issues and rooms are spot on, mates then glued theirs, due to bad floors.

I floated upstairs and glued downstairs. The response time is quicker and temp required in the screed is lower with the glued floor but as you say - levels have to be spot on.

Be aware though that wood is not a good heat conductor, so the performance will never be as good as a tiled floor. You can get some pretty convincing looking "wood effect" tiles. But it's probably too late to change now.
