Walking up the Aisle-What song?

No-one mentioned
White Wedding - Billy Idol
My Way - Ol' Blue Eyes (think about it)

More seriously though.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakieoieoieioieo (or however you spell it) is a lovely song which we used.
At the end you could use
Thank You - Led Zeppelin
Lyrics are brilliant for a wedding.
if the sun refused to shine,
I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea,
There will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all,
Kind woman, nothing more.
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain,
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
Together we shall go until we die.
My, my, my, an inspiration is what you are to me,
Inspiration, look see.
And so today, my world it smiles,
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done,
For you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad,
Happiness....Im glad.

Might be slightly too much 'rock' for a church...but it depends on your priest I s'pose, he may be a fan !

Thank you so much for all your replies........even the cheeky ones ;) I will be looking up itunes all night!!

We are having non-religous songs for the entrance and when we walk down at the end together. all the rest will be hymns/traditional. The priest is related to the singer so i'm hoping he won't mind!!!

At my sisters wedding last year when they were leaving the church after the ceremony the performer sang "When I'm 64" - It got a hugh laugh and a round of applause!
In relation to your question she walked up the aisle to "She moved through the fair" sang unaccompanied and it was really really nice!!!!

Bruce Springsteen - If I should fall behind
(though i prefer the Grant Mclennan of the Go-Betweens version)

We said we'd walk together baby come what may
That come the twilight should we lose our way
If as we're walkin a hand should slip free
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me

We swore we'd travel darlin' side by side
We'd help each other stay in stride
But each lover's steps fall so differently
But I'll wait for you
And if I should fall behind
Wait for me

Now everyone dreams of a love lasting and true
But you and I know what this world can do
So let's make our steps clear that the other may see
And I'll wait for you
If I should fall behind
Wait for me

Now there's a beautiful river in the valley ahead
There 'neath the oak's bough soon we will be wed
Should we lose each other in the shadow of the evening trees
I'll wait for you
And should I fall behind
Wait for me
Darlin' I'll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me

Read the lyrics of she moved through the fair. They are not appropriate for a wedding even though the music is beautiful.

My friend had She walked though the fair last year and it was great!

What about something a bit cheery and not cheesy!
It would suit a guitar :)

All I Want Is You by Barry Louis Polisar.

If I were a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I were a tree growing tall and greeen
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
As long as you were with me, let the cold wind blow

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.

"Perhaps Love" - by John Denver featuring Placido domingo (sorry bout spelling).

Really nice. Very simple.

Best of luck with your plans, your day and your future together.

Was at a wedding too where they had "she moved through the fair". for walking up the aisle. Was fab!!!

We had In a Country Churchyard by Chris De Burgh. Its a beautiful song, my singer learned it and was accompanied by guitar.

I agree with glowinthedar, the All I want song from Juno is brilliant. Very lively and catchy.

Ya big fan of that Juno song, my h2b is always playing it! My sister had she moved through the fair and it was brilliant but i don't want it because we are having same singer, same church & same venue!! have to try and keep it a little bit different! We are now thinking of having sheebeg sheemore, i've seen it on you tube and its really nice just on the guitar! I'm from that parish so it would be quite significant.

I have so much choice now.......

A fabulous website for all brides to visit to find music is called It is the a Google style search engine for music.

The idea is that you fill in the Artist or Song Title, and it will immediately play the relevant song to you on your own PC. You caanot download or copy the music, but you can Listen to it. So this would seem to be the perfect answer to any bride who is choosing music for her wedding ceremony, or the music she wants her videographer to use on her wedding video... and its FREE.

I hope this helps you.
