Up to date things to buy in the USA?

Was in Boston last year and then 7 years before that in Washington/Atlanta/New York..... I found that prices in general had sky-rocketed, I am not sure it is a value destination as it once was
Certainly prices seem to be pretty high, it’s not a shopping trip, that’s just incidental. It’s certainly not like 30 years back when you couldn’t get half the items here and we had no internet shopping or outlet malls here. However with the exchange rate there is certainly a little value there compared to here for most items.

Bring us back a few MAGA hats please
The wife was in Trump Tower last year. The building is dedicated to his greatness. With a 'shrine' type area and gift shop on the ground floor, packed with all the associated paraphernalia. She decided it was too expensive to be buying anything, but the photos she took were worth the visit.

If you are getting pricey electronics bear in mind you might have trouble if there are any problems down the line. Tricky to return an item for refund or repair!

I have bought Apple products at a good savings in the USA and later had them repaired here for free under Irish warranty rules but I don't know if that will always work or if I was just lucky.

Ipad bought online, delivered to brother-in-law in Virginia, brought over to me. Saved 33% on local price. Also, low dose Aspirin - buy large bottle with over 600 tabs in Walmart, Walgreens etc. Fraction of cost here, no need for prescription.

iPad is an option alright, cheapest one is 349$, 399€ but with taxes looks in city I’m in like 385v399so ~ 70€ cheaper, not to be sniffed at

Edit - although Amazon.ie has 11% off so 354€. Looks like best buy has it for 300$ so presume some other non Apple stores will have it similarly price. 330$ with taxes is about 285€ so still a decent saving but have to get a good deal over there to make it work.

When buying iPad, iPhone one thing to beware of is that there is only 1 year guarantee from Apple. There is a 2 year guarantee in EU for all Apple items. I brought home an IPad from the US and had made a saving, had problems with it after 14 months and Apple would not repair it.

I had to bring Prime drinks home to my kids from Target last time I was in the US

And one thing to avoid... don't be expecting any bargains in the duty free shops in US airports. Buy something in Dublin or a liquor store over there and bring back in your checked luggage.

if you have any female tweens/young teens to buy Christmas gifts for, there are a plethora of Sephora items that are only available in the states!
