Up to date things to buy in the USA?

Used to go quite a bit but making first trip in a while shortly, 7 days with most days in a big city probably passing by all the standard shops but
not near outlet malls etc.
With dollar low enough there looks to be some ok pricing, eg Apple products although with local taxes of at least 10% it’s not as amazing
as it first looks. Any other ideas for what is particularly well priced currently?

I found last year that the prices quoted online for iPhones were only valid when signing up for a US tel co price plan.
Made the savings so marginal that I didn't bother.
Just something to be aware of.

I think the sim free prices now with dollar worth only 85c might make it worthwhile but I’m not looking at phones personally.

Some phones bought in the US may not support all frequency bands used in Ireland/EU.
And all recent US iPhone models only support eSIMs and don't have a physical SIM tray so can't be used on the several networks here that still don't provide eSIMs.

You would have to try really hard to find a us phone that didn’t support all frequency bands in Ireland/eu. It’s the other way around if anything, Europeans freqs are a subset of American ones as we’ve been slow to roll out highest 5g freq, most networks here now support esims also.

There is value in sim free phones as I mentioned above but I’m not looking at them as I also mentioned above.

They still might work out cheaper than buying them locally....
Oh absolutely, it is 7-10€ for generic 200mg ibuprofen here in 24 packs, so 25c or so a tablet. You could pay 1€ a tablet for nurofen in a city centre pharmacy. So far I can see walgreens or target near where I am staying in 250/500 packs for 2-5 US cents a tablet.

Paracetamol and Multivitamins are not quite as cheap, looks to be half the price, eg branded say centrum are about 8-10c there and 20-30c here a tablet.

Target is cheaper than Walgreens for everything I found.
Yes vitamins and heartburn meds get a bit pricier in Walgreens for sure, that I noticed as I left my PPI tablets behind me the last time I went to NY and I had to get something to replace them.

I would spend hours browsing their meds, there is just so much stuff!!!

Just remember in the States Paracetamol is labelled as Acetaminophen.
The strength sold here 500mg is labelled there as maximum strength, regular strength there is 325mg.
Yes, it’s the max I was comparing, half the price is good, but a long way off the 10 times cheaper of ibuprofen

It certainly seems to be, but looks like I would have to pass about 6 walgreens to get to a target to save the extra cent or two per unit. Including one 30s from hotel, most likely will pop to nearest place initially and then if do end up passing a target will stock up further.

Seasoning mixes for grills and BBQs
Liquid Smoke

Their cakes are quite good but sugary and artificially coloured to a level we can't comprehend.

Was in Boston last year and then 7 years before that in Washington/Atlanta/New York..... I found that prices in general had sky-rocketed, I am not sure it is a value destination as it once was
