Taoiseach is anti-semitic

From the Irish Times:
"Mr Martin says Mr Trump has “the distinction of being the only president who has invested in Ireland” and he describes the resort as “stunning”. To say that goes down well with the US president would be an understatement."

Brilliant.

Thankfully Harris wasn't there. He's shown himself to be remarkable politically inept and immature in recent months.
Harris couldn’t hack it with the care worker in Kanturk. Shudder to think how he could have coped in the White House

Mineral deal signed by Ukraine and the USA. It's very hard to know what real value it is as the current US regime (seems fitting to call it that) cannot be taken at its word but it's certainly not a bad thing for Ukraine in the context of the current situation they are in and Europe's inability to fill the void which would be left by a US exit from the conflict.

Taoiseach gets blamed for everything ;)

RTE doing their paymasters bidding.
I havent seen publicity for the Eurovision like this for years.
I might even tune in for more than the voting. Who does or doesn't vote for Israel should be interesting.
Actually who they vote for could be intriguing, a poisoned chalice perhaps?
In the meantime here it is......

As a double "paymaster", i.e. a taxpayer who holds a TV licence, I'm rather pleased to see RTE belatedly sharing our Taoiseach's dislike for a régime that appears to enjoy committing War Crimes.
In light of the current global situation I'd rather we kept our heads down and stopped with the meaningless virtue signalling about this particular appalling actor, one of two in this particular appalling war.

Well, well...............
Ireland gives it's 4th highest vote (7) to Israel who nearly win!!??
Hard to accuse the Eurovision of being anti-semitic after that.....

In fairness it is only a ' song contest ' after all.
If their song was good enough then they deserved all the votes that they got , including from Ireland, in my opinion.

Israel ran away with the public vote with 297. Next was Estonia with 256. Clearly these are "political" votes. It doesn't mean Israel has popular endorsement from Europe. If Palestine had put Dustin the Turkey as an entry they would have got the max 444 public votes. It does mean that there is a strong, albeit minority, sympathy for Israel which has not diminished in the last 12 months.
The UK got Nul points from the public for the second year in a row - the Brexit dividend.
But the incomprehensible vote was Switzerland which were second in the jury vote but Nul public votes. I thought everybody regarded Switzerland as harmless and surely they would get some political support from France, Italy, Germany and Austria and surely we have forgiven them at this stage for the cuckoo clock.
