The Israel song nope, as a song there is no way it was worth 300 televote points putting it way ahead of some of the other songs, especially similar types of songs as opposed to the 'fun' songs like Estonia's or Sweden's. Its jury vote is more reflective of its quality as a song.

This is a good point. If you are voting to make a political point you would probably go all in - if voting just coz you liked the song you would hardly be so committed as to vote multiple times.
I tuned in to see the last of the voting and was horrified to see the Semites in the lead before the final vote for Austria.
The Austrian performer was class but if the vote was for the best song, I didn't miss much. This competition becomes more farcical with each passing year and I believe that countries/juries who voted for the Semite war-mongers, famine creators, and child-killers did so only to preserve themselves from anti-Semitic accusations. If the EBU had any guts they'd uninvite the Semites from participation in future competitions.

I think it is anti-Semitic to call people Semites.
It's also incorrect in modern English to use it as an alternative word for Jewish/Israeli people, so doubly wrong.
Evidence please. If you can find any then can someone change the thread title to "Taoiseach is anti-Jewish" or "Taoiseach is anti-Israeli"?

Strictly speaking a Semite is a member of any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language, including in particular the Jews and Arabs. The Palestinians, given that they have for the most part lived in the region for most of the last thousand years (though mostly not in the area they define as Palestine) are genetically more Semitic than the Jews, or, to put it another way, genetically more Jewish than the Jews.
In Modern usage the word Semite is often used to describe a Jew but less than half of the global population of Jews live in Israel. Therefore by any measure it is incorrect to refer to Israelis as Semites.

Therefore Semite is the more inclusive term as it includes Jews who live outside Israel and Gentiles who live in Israel.

Maybe it was that but most likely it was the international Zionist/lizard people conspiracy. Obviously it must have been funded by George Soros as (insert racist trope about Jews) wouldn't pay for it themselves.
On a more serious note it was good to see the Britain, France and Canada condemn the actions of the Netanyahu government in Gaza.

The fact that it is totally avoidable and is the result of the policy of a rich developed country with very well developed civil infrastructure makes it all the more appalling. Israel could be using that infrastructure to feed people but instead is using it to starve them.
The fact that Hamas are worse than the Israeli government and cares as little for their starving children as the Israelis do is beside the point. Hamas is a fundamentalist suicide cult, Israel is a developed modern democracy. It is beyond appalling that Israel is behaving like this.
It's getting close to being as bad as what China is doing to it's Uyghur Muslim population in scale (2 million Uyghurs in concentration camps with an estimated 10-15% death rate each year), though not close to it in terms of the overall death toll, forced marriage, forced sterilisation, forced abortions, slavery and Genocide faced by the Uyghurs.
I'm sure the Irish Government is working on an equivalent of the Occupied Territories Bill to deal with the produce we receive from China which is produced by enslaved people there.
