Health Insurance Shortfalls in Orthopaedic & Ophthalmic Procedures.

Asked Laya this week what a 20% shortfall for orthopaedic procedures amounts to in cash.

They said between 2k-4k, depending on (a) which hospital you attend and (b) the length of your stay.

Some companies would appear to have started naming a specific amount/co-payment that will need to be made for these procedures according to this AAM post. This would appear to be a better approach as people will know exactly how much they have to pay.

I would say that whichever surgeon does the procedure could make it a different price also if not set in stone.
