Heading to Seattle for a cruise in mid September, we will be there from late Saturday afternoon until we board the ship on Monday morning.
Then we will have about 5/6 hours when we get off the ship the following Monday before we need to head back home to airport.

Always check out google but nice to know personal recommendations of things people thought was good / worth the money etc.

We bite the bullet and are going BC return, €3,811 - very happy enough with that price considering they are €5,692 currently.

I went to Seattle a few years ago. If you were/are a fan of the 90s Seattle music scene, look up a few bars where your favourite bands would have had early gigs, and go visit them. I wish I had done that before I went, and it took me a few days to warm up to Seattle as a result. Since you've a relatively short amount of time there, pre-planning is key. There's a music museum around the base of the big pointy needle thing, which is pretty good. And as a tourist, you're obliged to go to Pike Place market - try to to early, it can get very busy.

Famous last words
I follow nothing political / war / left right / traffic lights anything like that on social media. So I'm really not worried, they can have all the info they want or need I have nothing menial in my life to be interested in.

Space Needle, and the monorail to get there for a proper 60ies "Jetsons" vibe.
Right there you also find the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum, which is one of my most favourite places to visit hands down. Some Irish connections due to his work with Waterford Crystal back in the day. There's a few other things in that area, depending on your interest.
Then go seaside - Olympic Sculpture park is worth walking through on your way to Pier 66 and Pike's Place Market.
If the weather is nice, get an Uber and go up the hilll to Queen Anne neighbourhood and specifically Kerry Park. Fantastic views towards Downtown and Mount Rainier.
If you still have time, Freemont neighbourhood (Freemont Troll), and further down towards the sea to the Ballard Locks.
If you want to go out in the evening, Capitol Hill is the neighbourhood for that.
One quirky Restaurant recommendation: Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge, Creole Kitchen.
Quirky bar recommendation: Rumba at 1112 Pike Street.
Go to the Amazon Spheres as well, worth the (arguably short) visit (open to the public First and third Saturday of each month only, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. PST, so this might not work for you)
If you don't want to walk all the time, or Uber, get a Limepass and scooter (or ebike) around. There's cycle paths everywhere, and it is good fun.

he floor is glass. If you want to have some fun then stand beside a person who is nervously looking down through the floor and suddenly jump up and down.

I am that person nervously looking down!!! I get terrible vertigo.

I hate heights but force myself to do attractions like this. The revolving restaurant 181 in Munich was terrifying but also really amazing at the same time.

Excursions booked, doing the Boeing Everett Factory tour and the Museum of pop culture.

Will do the Pike Place on the Monday after we get off the ship have a few hours to kill before the flight home.

Great choice. I did this in May and it was fantastic. Nothing prepares you for the scale of the building. I won't spoil it by saying anything more.

If you can squeeze it in to your schedule the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum as recommended by @newirishman is stunning. The glass is like nothing I'd seen before, large scale, vividly coloured and beautifully arranged/presented. It is right at the base of the Space Needle (you can get a combined ticket) which is also fun to do. The views from the Space Needle are superb, probably one of the best of its kind as you get city, sea and mountains. If you decisde to do it try to get a ticket for 1 hour tour before sunset, that way you get to the top in daylight, you can linger a while during sunset and then get the benefit of the night time views.

Anyway have a ball !

I did like the look of that glass museum but time is not on our side.

Flight arrives at 5pm in Seattle so Saturday night will be a ramble and try get an early night (flight out at 3.30pm going to try stay awake on the flight as much as we can to try and just sync up with Seattle time)

Now I see the space needle is open until 10.30pm on the Saturday so depending on how long it takes us to get to the hotel we may get there shortly after sunset which is coming in at approx 7.30pm - could be a runner.

Hubby wanted the POP museum that was a non negotiable so we have that in the afternoon and Boeing first thing in the morning on the Sunday. I am really excited for it, something very different.
