Sean Rocks died suddenly last night. I was wondering why Rick O'Shea was standing in the last few nights. Really enjoyed listening to Sean over the years, his knowledge of the industry, enthusiasm for the arts and just genuine interest in everyone he interviewed was lovely and he came across as a really nice fella. Mickey MacConnell 3 Jul 2025 aged 77, RIP in Listowel Co Kerry. Sorry, I missed this one.

Formerly with the Irish Press and The Irish Times, he was probably best know as the composer of "Only Our Rivers Run Free". He moved from Fermanagh to Kerry where he was a stalwart of all things musical and cultural. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a nanam dhéilis

Saw it multiple times in school, rented and played for us by the Christian Brothers. Pádraig and Willie Pearse attended our school and there was a display cabinet in the primary school with momentoes of theirs. RIP George Morrison
