Actress Stephanie Cole, known for roles in Tenko, Open All Hours and Coronation Street, has died aged 84.

I also remember her sparring with Graham Crowden in retirement home sitcom Waiting For God and trying to keep some sort of order amidst the crew's madcap shenanigans on BBC Radio 4 small time airline sitcom Cabin Pressure.

George Chuvalo who fought Ali twice , Joe Frazier and George Foreman and who was beaten on all four occasions but never knocked down in his entire career has died aged 89.
He won the Order of Canada in 1998 for his talks to children on the dangers of drugs , three of his five children died from heroin addiction and his wife committed suicide after the death of the third child .
If anybody deserves to rest peacefully it’s Mr. Chuvalo .
 
Archer was an appalling man who perjured himself in an 1987 libel trial against the dally star who had published a story about Archer having sex with a prostitute , he won the case and a record half million sterling payout .
Thankfully the old rascal’s perjury was exposed in a subsequent trial in 2001 , he was found guilty of perverting the course of justice and perjury and forced to repay the half million sterling,

I think that's a little unfair, who hasn't told a lie when they've been caught doing something they shouldn't have been doing!!

She was best known for her roles in Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest & On the Waterfront - for which she won a best supporting actress Oscar.

Dónal Lunny, one of Ireland's most celebrated musicians, has died at the age of 79. Lunny, a gifted multi-instrumentalist, was considered central to the revival and growth of Irish traditional music. Revered by many in traditional music, he had early musical success with the groundbreaking Planxty in 1971, then The Bothy Band, and subsequently Moving Hearts in the mid 1980s.

Only the other day we sat down to watch the last three Star Trek films and after the second, I asked Mrs C who is a real trekkie fan
How many of the original cast are still alive, she didn't know, so we consulted the third wheel in our relationship to find there were three
But sadly on the 25th of October there are only two after the passing of Walter Koenig AKA Pavel Chekov
That will be the second Pavel Chekov we've had to say goodbye to!!
