A new adaptation of Brendan Behan's The Borstal Boy will air next month on BBC Radio 4. It stars Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) and upcoming Irish actor Jonny Holden.
Their programmes usually aren'y geo-blocked.

There will also be an introduction discussing the novel with Colm Toibin.


 
BBC Radio 4 are airing an abridged reading of The Lock Up by John Banville. This is one of the novels in his Quirke series, set in 1950s Dublin. There was a TV adaptation starring Gabriel Byrne.

The reader is Irish actor Gerry O'Brien.

I'm a big admirer of her. Women like Joni and Jane Fonda are some of the role models that young women should be aware of. They are insightful, strong and intelligent people who recognise their own flaws and have faced and overcome adversity while maintaining their integrity.
