Philips LCD TV problem

Bought Philips LCD 42" TV 2 months ago. Intermittent problem with some cells not lighting up. Philips want me to have the tv collected where it could take up to 15 days to return. Service company based in Cork. No home service call out. Still under warranty. Is 15 days 'reasonable amount of time to repair' from a warranty point of view. Spend €1000 on a tv and getting this kind of back up service is deplorable. Any suggestions. Retailer can't help.....

Had my sound card replaced in my 32" lcd...phillips!!! sound just went! the place that repairs them is out by sarsfield road in cork..it took a week to be repaired!

I would recommend NOT buying a phillips tv

Search for other threads on this as I posted about my probs with a Philips LCD TV too along with others, it was a 32" and had sound problems

What you are describing is know as dead pixels, and I do not think it can be fixed,so you might get a replacement.

do a search - if there are only a few they may not do anything.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_pixel

In some cases, the manufacturer sends all screens to sale, and then replaces the screen if the customer reports the unit as faulty and the defective pixels meet their minimum requirements for return.[7] Some screens come with a leaflet stating how many dead pixels they are allowed to have before you can send them back to the manufacturer. Dead pixels may tend to occur in clusters; in most cases displays with such a problem can be sent back to the manufacturer.
