Have a pitched roof on a side and back extension on my house. There's quite a build up of moss on the roof.
Has anyone used any company to remove it? I've seen adverts where companies power wash it off but would be concerned about damaging tiles and having a leak.

Three options
You can remove it using a wire brush, we recently got our kitchen roof cleaned and the tiles repointed, the lads got up on a roof and cleaned it with a wire brush came out brilliant.

You can get it power washed off but you do need to make sure that you have no issues with your roof before that's done because it can dislodge slates if they are compromised.

Lastly if you can find somebody with the circular steam machine that is the best and applies the least pressure to the tiles.

We have had our roof professionally cleaned, I will warn you it is an extremely messy job, make sure your neighbors are aware and that they move their cars out of the way, and that you are prepared to help with a little bit of clean-up in their garden if your houses are close together.
