Yes - still very high as Irish Energy providers have not passed on drops in wholesale gas prices. Not a surprise really given the lack of competition in the fake Irish energy market which is a competitive market only on paper but in reality is a form of cartel.During the winter period we were provided with the subsidies of course, which were great.
I literally use the minimum amount of electricity and just got a bill for 130 euro for 2 months.
Normally in the depths of winter, heating up full, my bill would max out at about 180 (last year, previous, etc).
The European energy crises is still having this effect presumably?
Thought I'd read electricity costs would settle back down, but no?
Check your bill and you'll probably see that fixed charges such as the standing charge are a big chunk of that total.I literally use the minimum amount of electricity and just got a bill for 130 euro for 2 months.
That's the reason the Yuno guy claimed that they were the cheapest on the market. (They're not).Don’t energy suppliers buy electricity and gas contracts in advance via futures or hedging?
Maybe in the budget...Are there plans for more credits given prices still high?

Budget 2024 is expected to deliver at least one €200 electricity credit to every household
At least one €200 electricity credit in Budget 2024 is widely expected across the government parties.www.independent.ie
Like most interference in a market, it has negative consequences alright.I know the govt have extra cash and want to spend on one-off things but is this not just an indirect profits boost to energy companies?
