Increase in Sky subscription...

€45 p.m. is far from low in my opinion and experience.
Based on where I live and what's available for fibre home broadband (which is what I currently have, I am not referring to phone) the savings I could make monthly is €5
What I have works, the speed test might not be great but it supports full WFH and all the other bits and bobs in the house.
I'll take the hit.

Phone is €9.99 a month with gomo, agonising over moving to the €12.99 5g plan lol

Why? Is there anything you watch on Sky that isn't on Freesat?
There's a very small few channels not included, but you can get them on the NOW TV package for about €5.99pcm, and just go to cancel it every time the price is supposed to go up, and then they'll off you the same deal again.

Sorry, I thought that you were referring to mobile data.
I presume that this actually means 1Gbps download speed broadband so and not any data allowance?
Sorry my apologies 1gb not 1mb my bad.

Any mention of the importance of your time being wasted?
In fairness to him he did mention our time as well
but it was in the same sentence where he was asking us when completing the Sky feedback survey that we give him a positive rating
:)

I'm on the same plan and will stay there until they GoMo no longer offer it or 4G is shut down

Currently paying €55 per month for Sky Ulta plus 500mb speed, going up by €5. It says I have the option to cancel my subscription (new contract since Nov 25),can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative, used for gaming so needs to be as good as what we have, any recommendations please?

can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative
Sign up for any of the other broadband providers available in your area and get the new customer deal for 12 months and you'll almost certainly save money. Then repeat that every 12 months as needed. As with many service providers broadband service providers penalise customer inertia/loyalty.

assume you have openeir FTTH, in that case they are all using the same infastructure, i personally havent noticed a difference between, sky, eir, pure or digiweb.

Got another email from Sky yesterday about a contract change, yes another increase!!!
I don't have details of the first increase as it's gone from my deleted folder but think it was in reference to the sky stream portion of my package

This time its the fibre BB is going up by €3.50pm from the 26th of June but underneath that it also states
"Any offer you availed of when you joined Sky will not be impacted."
So I'm presuming like the last notice this doesn't apply to me but will be keeping an eye on it to make sure

This means Sky's standard price for their "ultrafast Plus" BB will now be €71pm which we nearly all can get for between €35 to €40pm
so I can't see them offering me a 50% or 40% reduction to keep me as a customer so I'll be switching again
Why do these utility providers solely focus on getting new customers and not retaining existing customers??

I have the most basic of TV packages with Virgin Media. So basic in fact that it is no longer available to the public. It does not include broadband. I got a notification that it is going up by €4.50 per month, which is just over a 10% increase. My broadband is provided by Vodafone on a separate package.
