I think this might be a key point that may be missed here. Cancelling your card as lost and getting it reissued by your current bank will not work as a means of avoiding any new pre-authorised charges. That could be a lot of hassle if you rent frequently.

Solution:- I cancelled my Visa Card so nothing could be deducted after the rental charges.

How about using a prepaid debit / credit card instead - you can freeze the card using their app - could do this at the car rental counter!

How about using a prepaid debit / credit card instead -

Not sure if Revolut gets flagged as a pre-paid card, I would assume it does and most suppliers state they do not accept pre-paid credit cards for reservations. Most will not accept virtual or single use cards.

Some will accept debit cards, but will deduct the full damage liability as a deposit up front.
