I know someone who was in a similar situation a few years ago. He liked the house but his wife hated it after they moved in. She fell out with one of the neighbours and never got over it, and decided she could never live in a semi d again. Their strategy was to get into a mindset that they treat it like they were renting the house and it was temporary, while they put the house on the market and decided they werent in a hurry to sell, so waited about 6 months refusing all offers that were less than 20% more than what they paid for it the previous year. They got over the 20% in the end and moved into his parents while they bought another house where they are happy now. If you have a good location to start with maybe this could be a strategy to make you feel better while you sell the house.
