Can anyone recommend a good application for amending .pdf files - as an alternative to Adobe's applications?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Hi Caveat, the applications I am searching for are to edit an existing .pdf file rather than convert a word to .pdf format.
I understand that -- but as you point out there are glitches with such applications which is why I wish to edit the .pdf file in its original state and not have to convert it to word and then back to .pdf.
There certainly are a few, can't name any of the ones I've ever used off the top of my head though (I have a vague memory of the producers of CutePDF [an excellent pdf writer] having an editor?? but I could be wrong). I remember last time I used one having to download a few before I got one that did the job.I'm not aware of any true low cost or free .pdf editor.

Possibly just the trial version I was thinking of... and probably one of the ones which includes a "trial" stamp. We have this - and yes, it's great as a writer (no watermarks etc and nice small files) but I don't think there is an editor though - not a free one anyway.
also try [broken link removed] for windoze, linux and Mac - shareware, freeware, updates to commercially licenced software, OS's etc.try www.download.com - lots of free / shareware pdf editing software
