Dunnes don't have the equivalent of Tesco's self scan system? I find that very handy in Tesco if I'm trying to hit a particular price tally - e.g. when using a One4All gift card where the till total needs to be less than or equal to the balance of the card. For some reason if it exceeds it they can't facilitate payment of the excess using another payment method.

I've only seen self scan in some Tesco and Supervalu stores. It'd simplify my Dunnes shop but no sign of it in my local Dunnes
The cynic in me suspects Dunnes dont want people spending exactly the voucher limit. Although granted it might be just down to cost and them being slow adopters.
Which is the best option as it efficiently clears the machine for someone else to use while you go to collect the extra item.
The minus to this can be when its only a small item and like me you forget to go and collect it. I was doing a large shop with heavy trolley and only remembered when I got home
