Changing sound of words ending in G

Has anyone else noticed the K sound creeping in when a word ends with the letter G in the Uk.
I notice it a lot in recents years, especially from women and now Andy Burnham is doing(k) it too.

Think its a peculiar English thing. Never came across it in Ireland really. They've been at it for as long as I can recall.

Nothing pronounced as nuffink and similar has been around a while in England.
