Hi just wondered if any BOI customers have heard anything from them since they met with Paschal O D?? Has anyone received the eagerly awaited letter

Having written to the CEO, I just got another standard letter from the Tracker Unit noting that I’ll receive a response when the examination is “anticipated” to conclude in 2017. Infuriating.

I've never gotten any of those standard letters.

What address did you use for the CEO?

I’ve called the helpline twice in the last week. Calls now go through to their general mortgage line not Castleisland (or probably as well as Castleisland). So definitely a lot more phone support but not much info.

Apparently seven tranches of letters going out between now and the end of the year. One went last week and next wave end of this week and so on for the next few weeks.

They can tell if your name was in the first tranche but I couldn’t get any info beyond that. I continue to be told I will get a letter but certainly no confirmation on whether that letter identifies me as impacted or not.

And no info on what distinguishes one tranche from the other.

Has anyone else had any joy from them?

I have heard nothing and BOI have held onto my overpayment money for 11 months and counting at this stage. I wonder what was preventing them putting all 7 tranches in the post at the same time? Were they afraid An Post wouldn't be able to cope with the big volume of envelopes!!!!

I received my redress letter on Monday. It includes a form that you have to fill in and send back to them. You have to let them know if you want the refund applying to your mortgage account or paying into your account. It says payment will be made within 30 days.

I was first contacted by the bank 12 months ago to let me know that I was one of the customers identified as being charged an incorrect margin on my Tracker mortgage. Maybe they are dealing with us first, as our refunds are much smaller than those who were denied a Tracker.

In my case, BOI have deducted the TRS refund from their redress payment and also haven’t included any payment towards independent financial advice. Not sure if this is the same for everybody who received their letters this week.

My update is I'm going backwards. I rang last Friday to see if they had any update on my account following the announcement of the additional identified accounts and was told that I should get a letter by Wednesday that I was in the first tranche of letters. So rang today and the lady I was speaking to said that no letter had been issued on my account and that any letters issued would be received by customers by year end. She couldn't tell me if I was going to get a letter or not just basically wait until year end to see. It's soooooooooo frustrating!!! Why the hell is it not just ok to tell people whether the fight is over or we have to go to a higher power. I genuinely don't care about the money at this stage. Don't get me wrong it would be nice I wouldn't say no to any moolaw coming my way but to know the fight is over and have them admit I'm impacted will do. I'll wait another 8years for the money if I have to.

I called the helpline this AM. Was told no additional letters have been sent since tranche one a couple of weeks ago. Still sticking to their end of the year deadline though. She confirmed that I'm "in scope" and that I would receive a letter by the end of the year. But I pointed out that in scope wasn't a confirmation that I'm impacted which she agreed with. So no real new news other than it's moving slower than might have been anticipated a few weeks ago. Sigh.

That "helpline" is a joke Not one bit of consistency with what they're telling customers.. unfortunately I think a lot of people, myself included will be starting 2018 off no nearer to getting their money back

I’m a Bank of Ireland customer.

I called the crappy helpline just there for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.

3 weeks ago I was talking to a nice lady in the specialist tracker mortgage dept down in Kerry, to which she confirmed to me over the phone that I was indeed part of the “affected customers” and was essentially in the pot.

I called back this morning to be told that the helpline has been moved from Kerry to a dublin department and the guy there could not confirm that My account was in fact affected, and told me that there was nothing on the system saying I was in the batch of letters being sent out (by end of year) or anything related to my account, but that’s not to say my account hasn’t been reviewed yet... they were his words.

Do they know more down in Kerry as they do in dublin ??

I’ve told him to push it forward so his manager is now looking after it, when they hear back from the specialist tracker department in Kerry he will call me to let me know what they say.

I hope they don’t start back tracking on as many accounts as they think they can get away with, hoping it will all be blown over I’m sure... it’s going to be a long process I think.

I’ll update when I hear back from them.

Just to update I requested that my redress payment be made into my current account. I posted the form on Wednesday evening and the money was in my account on Friday. I couldn't believe that they had credited my account so quickly in the end. It has been a long wait!

I just got my tracker back...on one of my mortgage accounts. I had split the mortgage in 2015 - half variable/half fixed (which is now on variable too). I have it back on the original variable element and I assume it will be assigned to the half that was split to fixed in time. They weren't assessed together (strangely enough). Per the helpline this morning a new batch of letters were sent last Friday.

I still have lots of questions re the fixed element and I still have to see the redress and compensation details but I'm thrilled for now at least - spontaneous weeping on the call to the helpline!!

Letter which I've just seen now asks me to be patient re redress and compensation as it may take a number of weeks....I can live with that now that the tracker is back on.

For info - I had fixed for 3 years in July 2006 having taken out the mortgage originally on a discounted tracker rate in 2005. Contract stated interest rate will be no more than 1.3% above ECB for the term of the loan. Wasn't offered a tracker in 2009. Now back on ECB +1.25.

I got same letter this morning I thought the 1.25% was a mistake as it should be 1.3% but I guess this is some form of competition it’s great relief to have the tracker rate back at least.

Glad to see people are being put on the tracker
LadyHB can I ask if you are back on a tracker but are still waiting for a refund?

Back on tracker and have been asked to be “patient” for a refund as it will take a few weeks.

aw man!! are you BOI? Some BOI customers have got their refund in the past week or so

Yes I’m BOI. The people who got a refund as far as I can tell, are the people who were contacted several months ago.

Looks like we will be waiting a while longer, if I could be reverted back to tracker it would satisfy me for now, did your letter state what you were owed?
