Remember the property pinthe archive of a forum like boards is a record of what people were thinking and talking about since the late 90s, it would be a big loss if that was gone, especially the period upto and after the financial crash. Maybe the era of everything being free on the internet is coming to an end
Indeed, for a time it had the most informed and intelligent contributors in the country from 2007 to 2015 , literally saved me 100s of thousands.Remember the property pin
Even with a Google "site:boards.ie" search? It's become impossible to find things.

Agree 100%. It's become impossible to find things.
Reminds me of the old Woody Allen joke.In my opinion theres very little worth searching anymore.
In fairness, they're pretty easy to ridicule
Was amazing for a period altho it did seem at one stage it didn't matter how cheap a property got it wasnt cheap enough for some postersIndeed, for a time it had the most informed and intelligent contributors in the country from 2007 to 2015
I think its attracts a more combatant user base.
It was zero to do with the left or the right. One can live with the modding of a money website such as this. Because it's mostly not about opinions. Rather it's about experience and advice. One can not live with the bias of mods on a website such as boards if one is having a discussion of a topical matter. But thankfully one has choices and not all sites are to one's taste. So is their modding bias off the scale to the left or the right?
And is the Askaboutmoney modding "somewhat bias" to the somewhat left or somewhat right?
Were you at the wedding?Grasshopper
On our third last move I finally persuaded himself that the VHS tapes off the telly of Live Aid should be dumped. Perhaps we should have donated them to the national library. LOL.can the owners not preserve it in hardcopy format on discs maybe? Surely they could monetize the archive in the future because no doubt someone will be looking for a post or a thread they put him 20 years ago?
RTE destroyed most of their archive from the 60s and 70s (Im not comparing that with boards.ie forums ) and now that archive would have been invaluable, they now depend on people that might have recorded stuff on VHS from the TV for that.
Mostly, but far from exclusively. There's plenty of scope for somewhat subjective opinions in most of the topics posted here. On the other hand, with most financial related topics I guess that opinions can and should be backed up with analysis and justification based on the facts and figures.Because it's mostly not about opinions.
That's only because geldof decided to release the full live aid show a decade ago I think in superb quality so it all became available on YouTube. Before that your vhs tapes had value so I'd say that was the reason you dumped the vhs tapes of live aid.On our third last move I finally persuaded himself that the VHS tapes off the telly of Live Aid should be dumped. Perhaps we should have donated them to the national library. LOL.
