Amazon Prime IE: has anyone moved their sub from UK?

Had a month's trial of prime on the Irish site, so ordered 6 items on 22 Nov (mostly stationery items)
Delivery was spread over 5 separate packages, from 25th Nov to 1st Dec.
One item hasn't arrived at all, I requested and received a refund.

That's one of the benefits / annoying aspects of prime. All items in an order can end up being shipped separately as they prioritise speed of delivery over consolidating items into a single package.

If you have the eir tv service (€15 in addition to eir broadband), Amazon.ie prime is a "free" extra, as is prime video Ireland. I already had it when .IE prime delivery came along and was just granted by Eir (/Amazon?) as a bonus for existing customers, but it's handy every now and again. It would be interesting to see subscription numbers reported.

If you order something they have available for next day delivery, which indicates it's in stock in an Irish warehouse, the turnaround is exceptional. I made an order at 10pm last night that arrived at 9am this morning.

A bit of an oddity I hadn't experienced with .uk or .de or previously with .ie.

I ordered a bunch of stocking-fillers for the grandkids €60+ and got charged, no hassle. The order was spread over three deliveries and when the last item reached me last Friday, the charge against my card vanished, knocking my usually impeccable reconciliation out of kilter. Today the charge showed up again. No problem whatsoever with paying for stuff I receive, but the on-off thing is a bit of a worry.

Anyone else notice this?

Initial charges to your card can be reversed if the vendor doesn't follow through with confirmation of the transaction within a set time period. The initial charge is more of a hold pending confirmation. In this case it's likely Amazon just missed the initial deadline but provided the details to the bank later. Happens all vendors.
