AIB Appeals Panel disagrees with the Ombudsman's decision

Very disappointing to see this Brendan, is it likely that the ‘complaints process’ will mirror the ‘appeals panel’ ? it feels very much like AIB are happy to drag this out. how do you see the ombudsman dealing with these cases Brendan?

Complaints - anyone get a response from AIB yet?

AIB suggested that a final resolution letter may be issued to those with complaints outstanding this month. Wouldn’t it be great if we could put this whole mess behind us.

AIB What to do if you lost your home and are in the Prevailing Rate Cohort

Hi Brendan, I am in a similar situation - I "voluntarily sold" my home following court action by AIB I was left with a 100k shortfall - in July that was written down to €76k and in August I received €9k interest AIB refused to write off any of my residual and it now haunts me in terms of...

Complaints - anyone get a response from AIB yet?

Hi there, I sent a complaint to AIB about loss of property etc - the mortgage was part of the prevailing rate. I received confirmation of the receipt of the complaint and a holding letter. Having a complaint with the FSPO on hold until September 11th I’m wondering if AIB will seek an...

AIB Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

Just a thought... I would love to know the breakdown of the €300million AIB has set aside . Is there any way of asking for the breakdown- to see how much was set aside for contingencies and appeals etc?

    The cheque arrived this morning

This morning I received the cheque for the interest- having lost my home and with a residual balance I wasn’t sure if this might drag on. I have made a submission for additional redress due to the loss of property and all that goes along with that. Anyone else in a similar position? @Nailligo

AIB Central Bank “AIB roll out of FSPO decision is outside of TME”

Received this from the Central Bank when I asked why we were not benefiting from the Principles re: Tracker Review .... While the Central Bank does not have a statutory role in investigating individual consumer complaints, we use any information that we receive directly from consumers to guide...

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

It’s amazing to think that the Central Bank has approved a scheme that ignores the very principles that they set. They have let customers down who need them to stand up when wrongs are done - it seems like a case that AIB are too big to be regulated

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

If he told you how much you were due - is it simply the interest on the 12% or a further payment? Do you have a residual amount o/S?

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

I think that those who lost homes must really step forward and be ready to speak about this issue publicly - I have sent my story to several news outlets and I hope that others will do the same. We need to get AIB to do the decent thing and redress us for the loss of homes and property.

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

@zxcvbnm yes he seemed to understand- the 12% reduction came off the residual balance owed - no admission that wrong rate had any impact on ultimate surrender of home. Simply restated line that they were implementing FSPO decision only. There seems not even to be an appeals process? I think we...

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

It looks like the FSPO is the only next option - they are only processing the ombudsman's decision across the board - they told me the amount that they wrote off my residual balance and claimed a cheque for the 'interest paid' on that amount will issue - no further payments are required by the...

No Further Redress for those who lost homes

This afternoon I spoke to AIB 'helpline' about my account - the guy who I spoke with advised me clearly that the redress scheme was only that prescribed by the Ombudsman 12% plus interest paid - I told him that my home was surrendered to AIB following repossession proceedings being initiated and...

Transfer of property to one of three who property is left to

Quick question, our mothers house was left between 3 of us - one wants to buy the house. Can a solicitor simply transfer on agreement from Mothers name to the buyer - to save the fees etc. ie can the executor sell the property prior by agreement without the deeds reflecting all three names...
