    BOI 10 year fixed

Yes and no, because KBC do not recognise sterling as income and my wife works in NI. BOI do recognise sterling wages and it's a joint mortgage.

I have 180,000 left on the mortgage over 18 years, property worth 320,000. Currently on 3.5% I think with EBS.

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

I got some legal advice and this was that my case has already gone to the Ombudsman and that this will not change. What exactly the review of terms and conditions are is unclear, but I have been told it could take 2 more years to complete. Given that I was nearing the stage of completion to...

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

Today I got a letter from the Central Bank stating the following "The tracker examination is being conducted to identify cases where customers' contractual rights under the terms of their mortgage agreements were not fully honoured. In this regard, I note that your bank has informed you that...

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

I was firstly told that my mortgage required review. The second PTSB staff member told me all mortgages are being reviewed. I was then told today by the 3rd person that I spoke to that I require a review because I am leaving them. Letter will be going to Head Office to request it is completed...

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

I managed to speak to someone a bit more helpful who are getting the bank to write and confirm a review is ongoing. They also explained that the review relates to a request for deeds, it is standard practice for a review of terms and conditions to commence if you are switching mortgage. This is...

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

I contacted them and I advised them that I am putting the proposed switch to EBS on hold, I have also emailed my solicitor and EBS. They wouldn't send me a letter to confirm that they are reviewing my mortgage nor would they tell me when they would be contacting me. What concerns me is that...

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

Brendan, Thanks very much for the advice. I might just ask them to send me a letter to confirm that my mortgage is under review today and ask when I will be hearing from them. John

Switching from ptsb, but it now appears I am in the tracker review

I am wondering if you could advise me as I am at the end stage of my switch from PTSB to EBS. When the deeds were requested from PTSB they advised there was an issue but wouldn't disclose to my solicitor and I had to ring them. They told me that they are reviewing the terms and conditions of...

    Mortgage Interest Tax Relief

I thought this was ending, but I see today that this is being extended to 2020. I took out my mortgage in 2007 and am about to switch to EBS from PTSB. Am I entitled to MIRAS - if so is this automatic or do I need to reapply? Or do I lose this by switching the mortgage?

EBS customers - you are not getting the 0.25% rate cut announced by AIB today

It's incredible that there is no tie in with the EBS cashback. I could theoretically move mortgage to a slightly better deal as most are paying legal fees.

permanent tsb valuers undervaluing houses when establishing LTV

Yes, they valued mine at 185k to get me on the highest LTV. A couple of months later another Estate Agent values it correctly at 250k

permanent tsb valuers undervaluing houses when establishing LTV

Ger, I believe you. The PTSB Estate Agent said the bank wouldn't accept anything higher, they undervalued my house by 20%. This spurned me on to switch to EBS who gave the correct valuation and a rate 1% lower.

EBS customers - you are not getting the 0.25% rate cut announced by AIB today

The irony is the Estate agency working for PTSB undervalued our house to make sure we got the worst SVR. The Estate Agent said PTSB wouldn't accept anything higher in valuation. This spurred me on to switch. An independent Estate Agent for EBS valued the house 65K higher, so we get a much...

EBS customers - you are not getting the 0.25% rate cut announced by AIB today

I am about to switch to EBS on an 80% loan to value at 3.5% with 2% cashback on 185K mortgage. A great improvement on the 4.5% I am being charged by PTSB currently. I hope I am making the right choice?

We need to get people affected by the high SVR to talk to the media

I haven't been on here for a while, years in fact but looked you up after hearing of recent events. Keep up the good work! We are trying to pay the mortgage and save up to reduce the LTV - not easily done when you bought in the boom. If we can get there we will switch from PTSB.
