    What to do with €3,000

Thanks for that Fungus, I don't need instant access to the cash. Am I right in thinking that Anglo Irish is the bank where one has to tell ones life story before an account can be opened?! Am I also right in thinking that any amount up to €100,000 is guaranteed by the government?

    What to do with €3,000

I have €3,000 burning a hole in my pocket. Now, I know it's not a lot of money, but I want to stick it somewhere as safe as possible and get a half decent return. Any comments/suggestions/put-downs?!

Help! Need opinions on which television to buy.

Hmmm, we looked at Hitachi then decided not to bother. Our budget has now increased to €650 (after raiding all our money jars in the house lol :D) We're going to look at the Sony centre tomorrow and I'll have a look at Panasonic as well. Thanks a lot for your advice. :):D

    9 hours at Stansted. Help!

I've done two overnights at Stansted, preparing to do my third in two weeks on the way back from Finland. The coach into London is the favorite, either that or take a good book/handheld video game/laptop/mp3 player etc. If it's an overnight, my solution is a few beers and a sleeping tablet...

    Trip to Iceland

I was in Iceland last year for Valur v Cork City in the Intertoto Cup. We found a cheap bar (called Belly's) where the beer was the same price as in Ireland and stays open 'til stupid o'clock in the morning. Weather-wise, I walked around topless in the evening (yes, I am a male :D), it was...

Ideas for a present for a 65 year old woman

Depending where the lady in question lives, I'd plump for M&S vouchers. If there is no M&S near her location then how about a few good old Mills & Boon books?!

    Gifts for Teachers

We bought 'our' teacher a modest €12 box of chocolates from a specialist chocolate shop. That's not over the top, is it? Other kids in our daughters class gave perfume, tins of chocolates etc... That, IMO, is over the top.
