    CGT on sale of shares

Many thanks for your reply. 1990's it should be!;) Your reply reminded me that there was an arrangement that if we held the shares for 5 years they were free of tax. However, I don't have paperwork from the time and the company is no longer based in Ireland. The administration of the scheme...

    Dangerous tree

Thank you for your response. The tree belongs to our neighbour. Now that it is damaged it is leaning out over a narrow road which allows us access to our house. This road was originally a public road but due to layout changes made by the Council it is no longer in public use. The tree does not...

    Dangerous tree

As a result of recent storm a tree belonging to our neighbour has broken and is leaning over against a tree to one side of it. A branch of this tree is holding up the fallen tree and preventing it from falling onto a narrow road which allows access to our home. Our house is the only one...

    Flight Attendant with Ryanair

I believe you are only paid for the flights you actually work. you are not paid for sitting by the phone waiting on that call to report for duty, which can make balancing the budget quite a struggle, not to mind paying back the training costs.

    Water Utility collecting PPS Numbers

Irish Water say they require the PPS number to determine the free water allowance for each household. Can they decide at a future date to reduce the water allowance and/or eliminate it? What would prevent them from doing this?

How much do people aged 66 or over pay in income tax?

+ 1. Well put PMU. The majority of retirees have put 50 + years into the economy. The reason so many of us feel we have never had it so good currently is because in the 1970s and 1980s it was so tough. we are so used to making the pennies count that having a little more in the purse is so...

How much do people aged 66 or over pay in income tax?

The Children's allowance in the 1970's / 80's was very low. Much more generous now even with the three reductions. Were the reductions intended to act as a disincentive to having large families. In 1977 the number of births was in the region of 64000 now they are about 74000.
