Having received a prompt that the AVG Anti-Virus Database being out-of-date, I followed the instructions. However, after many attempts of downloading/installing 2 or 3 different software versions (Anti-Virus), (Antiv-Virus and Firewall) I deleted from Desktop the surplus icons containing those downlaoded files which didn't work, leaving the original AVG icon alone. However, after each attempt of updating by selecting "Desktop" for "Folder", I was informed that:
"No new update file could be found at the selected location".
Then I tried again, selecting "Internet", and was told:
"An error occurred when trying to connect to the server. The server name cannot be converted to the IP address." The advice was "Go to Update Manager component -> Settings'.
However, I could not find that ....! Tried to go to www.grisoft.com and start over again, but still in the same loop - was told to update.
Any ideas?
Thanks, allendog
