Looking to regular invest savings for a higher return than normal deposit accounts.
Spoke with financial planner at cornmarket recently who recommended Zurich Savings plus Plan which I'm told has been preforming better than any other similar fund on the market for the last 10-15 years.

Would involve initial €396 set up fee (I assume financial planner broker fee).
Standard annual management charge of 1.5%.
I will be looking at saving approximately 1k a month for long term savings/investment and happy with a medium to high risk strategy.
The money would be accessible to me with notice.

Does any have experience with this Zurich Savings Plus plan or recommend anything different?

The Zurich Savings plus Plan is a product. There are numerous amount of funds that can be selected within that product. Some of them return more than others.

Regular saver plans are always more expensive than pensions, so there will be lots on here who will say it is too expensive. 1.5% is around the cost of a saver plan with an advisor ongoing fee included.

The past performance spiel and the high charges would put me off and I'd be more inclined to go with an lower charges execution only broker and chose a passive index tracker (MSCI World Index or similar) but that might not suit everybody.
In the case of €1K p.m. for a long term I'd probably also consider buying shares directly for the better tax treatment.

There are lots of existing threads on this sort of question/topic that might be worth search for and researching.

Guilty as charged. Maybe I was thinking of the charges on a lump sum investment. I'd still research further though and consider buying shares directly.

How long are you thinking of saving for?

This is in addition to the initial commission payable to the financial planner for setting up the plan with advice.

Standard annual management charge of 1.5%

The AMCs on this easy access plan can be between 1.25% and 1.85%

What you're buying involves 10% (of annualised contribution) initial commission payment and 0.25% trail commission for advice and servicing.

Yes, I bought this without advice as I didn't need any help in choosing a provider, product or fund. I also didn't charge myself anything for acquiring the business, setting it up, being the regulated entity that has to be responsible for it and servicing it. So, I bought it for a bit less than the standard 1% AMC that's available to everyone else, on an execution only basis (but not through any of the links above).
